DD was given santa buddies last week by my mother.
She loves it, its talking christmas dogs. I on the other hand do not love it after being made to watch it about 15 times!

DD is coming up to 4 btw.

DD (7) has Beverly Hills Ch and Hotel for Dogs and Santa Buddies on her request list.
they all look dreadful to me, but what do I know?

is there a modern equivalent of Lassie?

we loved The Fox and the Child - a really beautiful, non-sentimental nature film

There is a fab friendly dog in Up as well as a rather scary team of dangerous guard dogs

DS (3) absolutely loves all of the Buddies films: Snow Buddies; Space Buddies; Air Buddies and now Santa Buddies.

Oh and for Christmas he wants.......a dog.

101 dalmatians

Dd2 has the Beethoven films, which she loves!!

She's absolutely desperate for the snow buddy films (think there's about 3 of them?) - think Father Christmas will be bringing them for her smile

Bolt/Volt - animated dog film that my kids enjoyed

Dd1 (6) and dd2 (2.6) both love Space Buddies. Dd1 really enjoyed Hotel for Dogs and is going to work in a hotel for dogs when she is 58 apparently hmm

There's no need to fear - Underdog is here!

V cheesy funny film with dog with special powers, DSs love it.
It is admittedly maybe more attractive to boys? Although Underdog's love interest is a very cute girl poodle or spaniel (cannot remember) wink...

Second vote for 101 Dalmatians. It has to be that one, its a classic.

My DD also loves dogs. She likes Homeward Bound (it's a remake of the Incredible journey).
iheartdusty, there is a modern Lassie, with Samantha Norton.

I and my kids really loved Firehouse Dog!

I dunno if it's too young but Lady and the Tramp and all dogs go to heaven were firm favs for me and now DD (1.10) (or does it have to be real dogs)

Digby the Biggest Dog in the World is worth watching for a giggle at the 70s haircuts. My dd (now 7, I think she was 5 when she got it) loved it too.

bigTillyMint Sun 22-Nov-09 16:21:24

DD and DS love Beethoven (watched too many times") and DD just enjoyed Marley and Me.

Both are cheesy American papgrin

izzybiz Sun 22-Nov-09 16:26:06

Oliver and Company (Disney) is a good one, main character a kitten but lots of dogs too!

My Dd loves the "Buddies" films.

RatherBeOnThePiste Sun 22-Nov-09 17:05:56

Underdog

Fire House Dog ( DS loves dogs and fire fighters, so bingo!)

What's the one where the dad turns into a dog - might be Shaggy Dog?
