My pfb will be 15 weeks at Christmas and all the family are asking what to get him and I haven't got a clue what we will need in the coming months.

We are pretty cash strapped at the moment so need to suggest things that will be really useful over the coming months rather than just telling people to get a surprise. It really goes against my grain being so prescriptive but needs must at the moment so could experienced parents please help and suggest useful things for this stage of development.

Many thanks!

I would go for things he can use once he starts sitting up and really getting an interest in toys - things like this were really well played with in our house, and are quite pricey to go out and buy so would make good pressies...

sets of cups/plates/bowls, either plastic or pottery, can get nice gift sets.

clothes to grow into, peole like choosing outfits and if they are wrong you can take them back!

have a look on elc or toys r us at the toys for 6 months ish and see if there is anything you like...mine all loved their sit in play center.

nice gifty books.

Could you ask for vouchers - for Mothercare, or ELC, or somewhere else? A 15 week old won't be unwrapping anything, anyway, and you can perhaps get things as you realise what you actually need?

bumbo is a good idea, or grobags if you will use them.

I think wheely bugs are great. They are so much better than you think they will when you first see them. Your baby will be too small this xmas but it is a treasure for life and no harm in having one ready - I have one left in the loft awaiting grandchildren.

I've bought them for many nieces and nephews to initial scepticism, but everyone grows to really love them. A friend who has a one year old DD in nursery and they have told me that all the children fight over the nursery ones. (Used to be little tikes bubble cars when mine were there.)

wheelybug
