Nice wrap

Thinking I'd quite like some tasteful, thick, block colour wrapping paper this year with a single strap of ribbon around (as opposed to my usual patterned, bows and ribbons malarkey). Where do you buy your tasteful wrapping paper from? And gift tags, etc.

Ordered my special wrap from M&S this week - they have some lovely bags and ribbons as well.

Had some nice plain wrap from the Debenhams sale so they may also be worth a try.

I always get mine from M and S.
On their 20% days, at 3x2.

Have a look for any codes if buying online, I had a 20% one through so with the 3 for 2 it worked out really cheap for good quality items.

I get the WHSmiths wrap - it has grids on the back so you can cut it in a straight line.

However - do not get the good stuff for the kids. Last year it was a wrapping disaster in our house, the kids couldn't open anything because it did rip well . Then lot's of 'naughty santa' comments from DH

I like brown parcel paper with red or white ribbons.

This year however, if I can find any, I have a hankering for pale blue, like Alice In Wonderland's dress!

Boots often have buy one get one free but I haven't looked anywhere yet tbh.

Thanks all. Haven't seen any plain paper yet in any of those shops. I expect it's going to cost me. I want the really thick, good quality stuff. HATE it when you transport pressies to the relies and it rips at the corners (or all the bloomin bows fall off, grr). I'm going to look for matt paper with white ribbons (tied flat) this year and be all minimal and tasteful for once.

I have to admit that I stocked up my Paperchase supplies in the Jan sales.

Ikea had some plain matt paper in - brown like parcel paper, red and green. Looks quite thick but not expensive for a big roll.

If anyone is still looking for plain kraft wrapping paper - this site have loads in different colours for £1 a roll (3m).

They also have loads of ribbon too. I've just bought 9m of paper, 8m of ribbon and 12 gift tags for £9 inc. delivery - and its so much nicer than anything I've seen today on the high street.
