Looking at the roller coaster one for my 7yr old.

Are they any good?

I must have nearly £500 of KNex cluttering up the play room! Thankfully a lot was passed on from older cousins. I think it's fabulous. DD has built some weird and wonderful contraptions as well as all the actual models.

It lasts well, the possibilities are endless but I do wish it was cheaper.

Oh, DD played with it pretty much all the time from age 6-9, slightly less now.

Well I enjoyed playing with it yesterday ;) we've got tons of it mostly from charity shops, for 5yo ds and it's too fiddly for him but older I'd think fine. It blooming hurts your fingers though!

My 8 year old loves it. I've bought him some more in a box and a roller coaster one for Christmas. Nothing massive, just the cobras coil one, but he will love it.

We bought it for DS2 when it first came out, he made the big wheel and before we could get it working DH fell over it and broke it, he did have hours of fun with it and it's still in good enough condition(actually it still looks like new)to pass on to the grandsons in a few years
