DD has mfntuoned thus in her Christmas list. She will have just turned 7 at Christmas - will it be too young for her? I see the recommended age is 4 and above. Any real life experiences much appreciated - thank you!

My son has asked his grandparents for it for Xmas, he will be 6.5. Personally I think it's too young for him, but he's not stopped asking for it since he wanted it for his bday in June and I vetoed it then! He is quite young for his age in terms of tech etc though so perhaps it will be ok - we share a family tablet that he is allowed to use under supervision, we don't do consoles or gaming etc.

My son is 5 and a half and we've got this for him. He saw it on tv, I thought no way, but then I saw it in toysrus for under 25 quid and thought I'd treat him. I haven't opened it or seen what it can do, but I thought he'd enjoy messing around taking photos and there is a capacity to download games.

As sueperkins says, he has access to a shared family tablet and that's it. He'd like a ds but I'm holding off on it for a while and thought this might be a good interim thing.

It'll knock his socks off to get it as it's the kind of thing he is used to me saying no to. I know the other things we've got him will be better play value in the long run but this is the one I'm really looking forward to giving him Grin

Thanks for your replies Flowers - I think I've come to the conclusion that it's going to be of limited benefit to her because if her age and the fact that she is already used to a ds/iPad. There doesn't seem to be anything in the smart watch age range for the 7-12s (unless I'm missing something).

The Kurio here says 6 plus and some of the reviews are for older children. Might be worth a look.
