Jakadaal Fri 11-Nov-16 23:35:08

Me too! Has beaten John Lewis this year

sandgrown Fri 11-Nov-16 23:35:56

Love it too!

DillFunk Fri 11-Nov-16 23:43:55

Yes, much better than JL this year!

Costacoffeeplease Fri 11-Nov-16 23:44:55

Really?

Scrumptiousbears Fri 11-Nov-16 23:47:54

Yes this is lovely. I'm not sure what JL were thinking sad

EssentialHummus Fri 11-Nov-16 23:51:42

I loved it.

Kleptronic Fri 11-Nov-16 23:53:31

But why does she hide that she helps?

Northernlurker Sat 12-Nov-16 00:01:52

That's the only bit that annoyed me kleptronic. Fabulous clever professional woman hiding her talent......except that she's clearly much younger than mr Claus and maybe she's got all the technology lined up to take over when he's past it but doesn't want him to feel past it yet?

I just loved the kids, the look on the boys face when he saw he'd really upset her was so sweet. Useless parents mind you.

Well it struck a chord. My two DC's are bickering all the time at the moment, big, grumpy, nearly teenaged sister and small, annoying brother. But he loves her to bits and I hope she can see it sometime, even if we don't have Mrs C to help.

UntilTheCowsComeHome Sat 12-Nov-16 01:07:28

I loved it too, much better than the JL one.

HollyBollyBooBoo Sat 12-Nov-16 06:54:18

Really good, I was highly impressed!

GerundTheBehemoth Sat 12-Nov-16 07:27:11

That was rather fab.

Link for the TV-less like me.

PigletWasPoohsFriend Sat 12-Nov-16 07:29:16

I really like it.

OpheIiaBaIIs Sat 12-Nov-16 07:36:33

Wonderful. I live Janet McTeer, and it was directed by King's Speech/Les Mis directoe Tom Hooper, very fancy. JL have really dropped the ball this year - with a few tweaks it's more like a summer ad - but this and the Aldi ones are by far the best of the year.

OpheIiaBaIIs Sat 12-Nov-16 07:41:43

Love her, even! And director. It's too early and I have a hangover fgrin

TheImprobableGirl Sat 12-Nov-16 07:45:37

I thought it was great! On first glance I did think it was Emma Thompson though, which would've been fab!

Noctilucent Sat 12-Nov-16 08:12:03

Very good ad, thanks for the link. Well done, M&S.

Myfanwyprice Sat 12-Nov-16 08:20:40

I loved it, really reminded me of my dc, best Christmas ad so far smile

Hassled Sat 12-Nov-16 08:23:13

I loved it too. It certainly made me want to have a look at her red dress in M&S next time I'm there. Or I might even go in especially - so the ad worked (except I've just realised everyone will be wearing that red dress).

OSETmum Sat 12-Nov-16 08:23:15

I thought it was very, very cliche tbh.

Middle class children from the south of England ✔️
Parents who just smile on ✔️
'Surprise' at the end ✔️ (Although it wasn't a surprise it was obvious what was going to happen).

They never, ever chose a northern child or a Welsh one or a Scottish one.

alseb Sat 12-Nov-16 08:24:36

Loved it - better than JL. Bit teary!

MilkTwoSugarsThanks Sat 12-Nov-16 08:25:45

Just saw it. Sooooo much better than the JL one. I'd love to know how Jake knows Mrs Claus can do that though!

How long 'til the threads about how misogynistic it is because she hides her talent and has taken her husbands name.......... grin

IfartInYourGeneralDirection Sat 12-Nov-16 08:27:43

The book she was holding was called fifty shades of redgrin

Soubriquet Sat 12-Nov-16 08:29:11

I loved it

I agree it was better than the JL advert. Made me well up. and Dh

Everyone knows Mrs Claus is the brains behind the operation
