New baby craft ideas for grandparents?

Dd is 14 weeks, we don't have much money so I want to make something for grandparents. Dp sister has done a lot of hand prints, stepping stones etc,so not sure if it would be okay to do something similar?

I was thinking of a tote bag but not sure what to put on it? Help!

I have done my Grandad a mug with my DS's handprint on saying "DS's Grandad".

He loves things like that he will cry

Not exactly a craft, but framed photo of that grandparent holding the baby? You could craft up the frame.
We did handprint plates the first year, then framed photos and now we are getting into bookmarks (scribble drawing or stickers, cut into a strip then laminated with a tassel in the end) and the totally useless item 'long distance hug', which is two handprints on felt sewn onto a ribbon the length of the child's armspan, to embody 'a hug' from the child.

Could you stretch to a photo calendar? Both sets gps love them and reduces my not giving them prints guilt!

Following for some ideas too!

When Ds1 was 4yo I made a plate with his handprint in the middle and painted round the edge "this is the hand you used to hold when I was 4 years old". I used value plates from Asda, a huge ink pad from ELC and a black sharpie for the writing. I then mixed PVA glue with water and lightly brushed over the plate and baked in the oven for 10 mins. 3 years on and the plates are still on display in grandparents houses Grin

Now have DS2 (9 weeks) so wanting to do something different but I'm stuck!

I'm planning on making salt dough Christmas tree decorations with a hand print. I like the idea of a tote bag. Is there a way you can cheaply print a photo on it or do some sort of footprint design? Vague memories of textiles at school!
