Dd is a quiet and creative (young for her age I suppose) teenager. She loves to draw and she likes her laptop. She has 3ds (every model released up to and including the newest) ipod, iphone, ipad, new laptop, bike, wii u, electric piano and more toys and games than she knows what to do with and a huge amount of art supplies as they are my fall back option and shelves of books.
She has no interest in clothes other than nice pyjamas and fluffy socks, no real interest in make up (has lots anyway) and she doesn't watch tv/ films (in spite of having her own tv for the wii u) so dvds aren't an option
She has asked for nothing but the new pokemon game but ds 1 has pre ordered that for her and her other three adult siblings need ideas too. Dd1 is buying her pyjamas, duvet cover, fleece throw, cushion for her bed as she has spotted some with hedgehogs on which she likes.
So what are your best ideas for a home loving (would hate experiences days) girl who has pretty much whatever she has ever wanted and a fair bit more besides?

Have you looked at Djeco art sets, they have all sorts, pencil and paint workshops, jewellery making. They are really nice imo.

Also is anything happening in the year, e.g. school trip that you could get something nice for, like wellies, fleece

Is she too young for pandora? My daughter started collecting at 13, little bits, has about 6 items now she is 16, and still likes it, wears daily, so quality that lasts.

Does she have her ears pierced? I know some families do concerts etc...

What do you think of those ideas?

She sounds like my 11 year old dd (although she's not as techy). We're getting her one of the new Polaroid cameras so she can take some arty pics to put up on a board in her room. Would your dd like that do you think?

Ooh Pandora could be an option, Dd1 has a bracelet that I add to at Christmas and birthdays. Dd2 has a Nomination bracelet that I add to but maybe she'd like Pandora too or possibly a ring as she has costume rings that she likes.
She likes Musical theatre so I could think about tickets to a show rather than concert tickets as she has quite eclectic tastes when it comes to music.
I was thinking maybe another musical instrument perhaps ukelele as she plays one at school and if I go for jewellery and theatre tickets I need something to give some bulk to her pile.
Not sure about craft sets as she has lots unopened upstairs she is happiest with nice paper, good pencils and pens tbh although I could think about an easel, canvasses and paints for her to broaden her horizons a bit.
Things to think about though so thank you Flowers

My DS (16) has asked for us to all chip in for a good quality camera, as he has started doing photography for A Level. Would something like that interest her?

Hmm maybe not a polaroid but I could look at those mini printers so that she could print off some of the arty shots she takes on her phone. I'd never thought about photos at all and she takes lots usually of sunsets or flowers as inspiration for her drawings. Maybe it won't be so difficult after all Smile

Craft workshop day?
We definitely moved away from gifts and on to experiences at this age because they just don't need 'stuff'. Theatre tickets sound fab.

Sounds very much like my DD. We're swimming in crafts kits so I'm reluctant to go there too.

I have wondered about a digital photo frame so she can display some of her pictures more easily. Also looking at picture pockets

Does anyone have a link for the mini printers, I've never been that impressed with the results when we've printed photos at home.

Last year we bought her a graphics tablet so she can work on the computer.

I was going to get my tech mad ds on the hunt giggling so will post links when he has tracked a good one down. Dd had a graphics tablet last year as well. The picture pockets looks good especially if we go for the printer.

Maybe some nice decor things for her room like fairy lights & wall stickers?

I wonder whether there are any magazine subscriptions she would like, or any other subscriptions she could get throughout the year?

Also, maybe nice versions of things she uses every day, like a grown up hair dryer, hair brush, nice bath / shower things?

My 13 year old Guides love making smores more than anything in the world, and you can get some cool gel burner smore making kits!

Does she play any games on her laptop that you know of? You might be able to get her credit to buy additions to her games.

She has a serious Lush bath bomb addiction so will need to buy those. She plays SIMS on her laptop so should check if there is a new or different version mostly though she is drawing or transferring her drawing onto laptop via graphics tablet. Could have a look for magazines though as she loved her weekly Beano until she outgrew it trouble is she doesn't really fit a typical teen magazine as no interest in fashion make up or the boy bands. She likes and is very good at French though so listens to French music and watches French TV clips and shows online maybe a magazine aimed at younger (11 plus) French children would fit the bill.

How about an account with Photobox? She can get very good quality prints of her photos, she can make gifts for others such as cushions and canvas bags etc plus their photo books are brilliant. It takes some skill to make a good photo book and they basically replace old fashioned photo albums

Ooh Davros that sounds good and plenty of different options for her to choose. Will definitely explore that option.

Thinking about her creative side... card making or scrap booking set; calligraphy set; baking things?
This Bobbi Brown teenage makeup book went down well with a hard-to-buy-for teenager a couple of years ago: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0091878179/ref=mpssa111?ie=UTF8&qid=1477593472&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=bobbi+brown+teenage+beauty&dpPl=1&dpID=51zwWGBWPmL&ref=plSrch

What about something to organise her art supplies? IKEA do really good three tiered trolleys which will hold a shed load of stuff (if you have a look on Pinterest there are loads of examples).

Ah perfect, Sims is exactly the game I was thinking of! They have a huge online shop where she can buy new outfits, neighbourhoods, decor & items for her game. I think some credit for that would be a great gift.

Ohh I didn't know about the SIMS online store that sounds right up her street Abe I used to buy her credit for MSP and Moshi Monsters now outgrown.
The trolley is a good idea too LaChatte I could put a few new bits in it to start her off and encourage her to put her other stuff in it as well.
This has been a really good thread, was really struggling for ideas beforehand but now I've got enough for Christmas and her upcoming birthday too.
