Family board/card game recommendations

Last year I got DD1 (8) a card game called Sushi Go after it was recommended on here & we LOVE it!! I would never have come across it without being recommended. We take it on holiday and play at home.

here it is: www.amazon.co.uk/Sushi-Go-Pick-Pass-Card/dp/B01KJKORR2?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

So what other games are good for adults but also for children - so the whole family can play them?

I'd like to get one or 2 for us for Xmas, and I will be buying Sushi Go as a gift for someone else.

I thought games might be worth their own thread.

We play a lot of Carcassonne and Ticket To Ride as well as Exploding Kittens. Kids are 14/11/8.

Dobble is amazing, very easy and quick to play

Red you have stirred memories of playing Pass the Pigs many years ago - possibly as a drinking game.

Exploding Kittens - on my list! And I will buy as a gift to someone too.

Monopoly Deal and Magical Labryinth look good too - bit above my 5yo's head. She is a bit young for games still - so I get her to play my hand usually. Though she is getting the hang of Sushi Go.

My 5yo would love Dobble - and she is very visual so would be OK with that

There's a dobble jr as well but I know of a couple of 6 yr old who've managed the 'proper' version.

City of Zombies and Labyrinth are brilliant, Labyrinth is my favourite, city of zombies involves lots of maths but it's a collaborative game rather than competitive.

We take exploding kittens and sushi go on holidays and restaurants too. Bought The Emoji card game from Boots on 3 for 2 for christmas. There is a expanded sushi go game coming out and also an expansion pack for exploding kittens out soon. Jungle Speed is also fun.....just trying to remember what I've carried around in my bag.

Just remembered 2 more that I've got for Christmas that look interesting. Rainbow Rage and OK play both from Amazon.

Based on another thread I've ordered dobble. I also bought the 2000s trivial pursuit and slamwich. Slamwich is like a better version of snap. I can play it for ages!

Another vote for Dobble. We play it a lot with our four aged between 6 and 12!

Family trivial pursuit for older kids. It has child and adult questions
Tension again for slightly older kids but it is played in teams so anyone can join in really.

Uno extreme is awesome, so funny when the machine spots the cards out.

Another vote for dobble here. Also fluxx. My 12&7yr old play it quite a bit together. Maybe a bit hard for 6 (7yr old gets help I think) but if you have older kids then it's great.
camel up we played this last weekend and it was really good fun but it is 8+
I've bought scattagories and game of life for my dc this Christmas

Qwirkle is fab. One of the only games that doesn't cause me to lose the will to live when playing.

Games for younger kids that older kids might enjoy-Hiss and Eeboo Candy Match were huge hits in our house.

The really nasty horse racing game is brilliant and hilarious. Good family game or a ruthless adults only game!
