What are we wearing on Christmas Day?

Am I the only one that struggles to get the perfect outfit for the big day? It needs to be dressy enough for the occasion, I also go to mass in the morning so nice (and warm) enough for that, loose enough to play with the kids toys (the benefit of not having kids yourself is that you get to play with all your nieces and nephews' toys), roomy enough around the stomach for all of the food, etc, etc.

Not easy.

I did play with the idea of a sparkly skirt, thick tights and slouchy jumper, but then I remembered that I'm much shorter and squater than the models on pinterest.

So what are you wearing or are you lounging in your festive PJs all day long?

Just normal clothes. Elasticated waist, of course, but nothing special or dressy. I normally nod off in a chair in the afternoon, so definitely trousers; nobody needs to see me legs akimbo in a skirt.

We all dress up a bit (more out for Sunday lunch than cocktails at the savoy).

I would love a sparkly skirt and jumper combo too but alas my everything is too big Xmas Blush.
Hoping for some inspiration here.

DH has dark grey woollen trousers, a white shirt and dark red cashmere jumper.

I've just bought this and as soon as I tried it on, I thought Xmas straight away! Honestly, the most comfy, flattering, versatile dress I've had! Bonus points for the fact I can feed my 5 month old with it on :)

Leggings and a big soft comfy jumper. Chunky jewellery.

I have found the jumper I'd like to wear this year for €10. White-ish cream with silver thread at the top. (Fake) pearl earrings and maybe a Christmas brooch.

Cheers Wine

Black jeans, (that's dressy for me) and one of my two, new animal print sweaters. (I got carried away. Grin )

Short skirt, thick tights, Christmas jumper with penguins on. Because I am tasteful and fashionable like that.

I've got my outfit planned already Grin, it's just a tartan skirt (not pleated! More like a pencil skirt that doesn't go passed the knee, but it's realllllly comfy) with thick black tights and either a cream shirt or a cream jumper, potentially a black jumper....hmm. It will be teamed with various footwear; posh boots for church and wellies for our walk but mainly big fluffy slippers. My DDs are wearing a similar thing, I have no shame.

I'm in a very different climate but I just bought these and thought it would be a great outfit (unless I find something else beforehand). It's a nice weight linen and it feels fun!

What are we wearing on Christmas Day?

I normally get a bit dressed up, but this year will be 36 weeks pregnant on Christmas Day. So will be whatever I can fit into! Most likely some comfy maternity jeans and a Chriatmas jumper. Will find something festive and sparkly for DD, although she'll probably prefer a Christmas jumper as well!

Depends on if baby has arrived or not! I'm due two weeks before Christmas so if baby has arrived I will be wearing my PJs or something comfy but it will only be me, DH, DD and hopefully baby.

ginandtonic I got them from Gorman 😊 I'm loving them, they mix and match with white/black tshirts/skirts/jeans!
I'm also a fan of their pattern tshirts with a plain skirt...

Normally we dress up a little - sparkly stuff, shirts for the boys (DS1 has a tasteful baby-polarbears-in-santa-hats one that he'll wear all year around) as we're either at my parents or MIL's. This year however we're home alone for the first time ever, so I shall be purchasing everyone lairy christmas pjs/t-shirts to wear. It's going to be lovely Grin

DH has just said he's planning on sitting around in boxers and t-shirt, so I guess it's christmas boxers for him then...

Pyjamas in the morning (I dont wear them in bed) and maybe get dressed for dinner, which will include a Christmas top
