Struggling with the big gift for DD this year she will be 7.5 at Christmas. She got a bike last year, has a scooter, and roller boots, we've got an old wii, got a desk for her room. Is playmobil crazy but has so much of it already, same with Lego.

She's getting into cooking so thought about a few books and cookery stuff but really struggling what to go for her big gift.

All ideas welcomed!

at 7 I think the big gift was the elsa dress..with months of build up about selling out...never get it....but FC did

Djeco craft kits are excellent as well as the magic sets but also the card games we love Dimonak (sp) witch on the front...uno, sleeping queens....other games and cd stories like - lion witch and wardrobe, the borrowers etc..books etc...its hard!

Adopt an animal. They get a cuddly toy and updates over the year.
Riding lessons.
Trip to a show like Disney on ice plus a stay over.

Big box of Kapla blocks and the books with models to copy/be inspired by. I have bought DD (will be 7 at Christmas) the Melissa and Doug deluxe magic set. Also, as someone said upthread, Djeco do lovely craft kits for that age.

I'm also struggling with DD this year. She will be 7 in November so I need gifts for her birthday then Christmas a month later. Confused The ideas on this thread are useful. Here are some of my ideas for DD.

So far for I'm thinking:

Animal jam toy play set with the disco ball.

This monstrosity of an otter hoodie that's she's been asking for.

She's also wanting kitty in my pocket, num noms and Twosies so I might get some of that stuff for her.

I will renew her animal jam membership as it will be up on Christmas Day (was a gift last year)

Otter everything and anything (I'm looking for some nice earrings that are preferably gold but might need to settle for sterling sliver - I won't let her wear cheap fashion earrings)

I've also got my eye on a colour changing mood necklace with her name in it from eBay - very unusual as nothing has her name. That will be a stocking filler.

We still haven't got through at they craft kits from last Christmas so no more of them this year.

She's not into dolls, princesses or make up so nothing like that. I'm thinking perhaps sylvanian families stuff? It's pricey but I'm thinking because it's animals she might like it.

I'm going to get her some books that I know she will like - she's not long started chapter books. I'm looking at the Dick King-Smith set as its got loads of animal stories. She's keen to read Harry Potter I'm considering getting her the first one but I might hold off on that until next year. Other books I'm looking at are ones with girls around her age as the main character - Pippi longstocking, Eloise at the plaza, Amazing Grace etc.

She's desperate for a poop emoji cushion - I might just get her one even though I think it's a bit grim because I know she will love it.

For her big present she wants a laptop but I have said no. She's too young and she already has an iPad mini so she doesn't need one. I have no other ideas though on what to get for a main gift.

If she liked music I would be thinking to get her an iPod but I know she wouldn't use it. Maybe an idea for your DD Finlaggan?

Thanks for all the suggestions some good ideas.

She already has a tablet so that's out.

She got some sylvanian families stuff last year but I think she has played with it twice.

She's got here eye on the playmobil Ferris wheel so I got that today reduced on Amazon.

She has an MP3 player & headphones although the MP3 player was a fiver off amazon so maybe a new one would be a possibility.

Riding lessons are a great idea she would love that but wouldn't believe it's from Santa so maybe we could give her that.

Kapla blocks - maybe (I would love them!)

Chapter books are a good idea will check out the suggestions with the animals thanks.

Karaoke - she would LOVE it, not sure our neighbours would!

Camera is a good idea she would really like that.

She got the Melissa & Doug magic set last year she has played with that a lot and it's really good.

Thanks again, some really useful ideas.

Does she already have a nice 'grown up' desk in her room? DD bought one with some money she was given last Christmas and it's been so well loved and used. You could pre-assemble it and stock it with stationery, desk lamp, etc. DS will be 8 this Christmas and has asked for one for his room.

Or how about a giant bean bag, if space permits?

I got dd a camera last year. Got her a hello kitty instax and got a lovely scrapbook from paperchase. She loves it. She has learnt that films are precious and saves pocket money for films as they are £10 for 20 shots. Really good though. Highly recommend Smile

shartsi are the cupcake surprise dolls back out? My cousin had them when we were little and I was envious as they smelt so good. That might be an idea for DD so I can relive my childhood as I think she would love them.
