What christmas food do you have left?!?

God, just opened the fridge...cheese, pate, dips, cold meats.
Not forgetting the crisps, nuts, biscuits & chocolate that is left. Feel a weekend of eating is on the cards before back to school/work routine begins & healthy eating kicks in (yeah right!)

I threw out pate, cheese, salad and mince pies today, i knew they wouldn't be eaten.
Still have some chocolates, nuts and crisps and biscuits left, what isn't eaten tomorrow will also get thrown out.
I hate waste but refuse to have them lying around on monday!

Lots of cheese, but we have friends coming tomorrow so that'll hopefully get eaten. Couple of mince pies, but that's about it :)

Most of a Christmas cake because no one (apart from 13 month old ds3) likes Christmas cake. Idk whst possessed my mum to buy and bring it! Otherwise, nothing unless you count the vile blue ones from the quality street. Which I don't, they're an aberration, not food.

There's a bit of booze left though. Some cider and beer, I think.

Loads of chocolate

Brie
Smoked cheese
Other cheese
Half an iceberg lettuce
Cranberry jelly
2 bottles of champagne
Bailey's

Came down with flu Christmas day so family left Christmas day evening which meant Christmas day tea was uneaten and so was Boxing Day food.
So, lots of food left over. Not well enough to cook so been munching on the snacky food since. We've got the Boxing Day ham still to eat plus all the trimmings still in the fridge - two bags of sprouts, a bag of parsnips and a sponge Christmas pudding with maple syrup and chestnuts. Two types of brandy cream and custard.
Plus
a couple of boxes of mince pies,
half a Christmas cake,
lots of chocolates,
nuts, crisps and dips,
pate,
a whole ton of cheese
various salami and anti-pasti meats
crackers
sausage rolls
spring rolls
hummous
pitta bread
olives
lots of salad going a bit green around the edges.
I don't want to waste it, but it is all a bit past it's best before dates now.

Funny though, despite the flu, all the Christmas booze has been drunk Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

Specifically Christmas food:

half the cake (I made it and the marzipan/icing. 'Tis lush but I need to rein back my wheat intake again, it played havoc)

2 boxes of Sainsburys TTD mini mince pies (long shelf life)

Chocolate biscuit assortments (2) , the ones that once you open they need to go in a sealed box or they go soft. And you get down to the meh ones.

Lots of sweets/chocolate. A couple of years ago I melted the leftover sweets to make a gooey crispie cake so that might be on the cards again.

The beer has gone too Grin DH drank the beer I'd bought for DBro/DSiL so it "wouldn't get wasted"

I put loads in the freezer - swiss roll for the trifle that didn't get made, Sticky Toffee Puddings (Delias recipe)

We always have cheese and olives
Most of the veg/salad is hoovered up by the guinea-pigs anyway.

Way to much chocolate, mince pies, copious amounts of booze, crisps, nuts lots of frozen nibbles. I may reign back the food shopping next year. At least this lot will last me till easter.

The children have a lot of chocolate left, but we'll ration that out over the rest of January, I don't like them stuffing themselves, and we'll go back to chocolate only on weekends rather than in the week, once school restarts.

We've a small bag of dark chocolate lebkuchen hearts, some cheese and crackers, but not tonnes, bit of pate - about a couple of slices of toast's worth. That's about it.

The cold meats, nuts, olives, crisps, biscuits, cakes and mince pies have all gone. there were still a few bits left on New Year's eve, which makes me think I got the levels right.

However, we didn't buy nor weren't given any tins of chocolate this year, after having 3 last year. Next year I will have to rectify this and buy my own!

A big chocolate cake that's been opened so will have to bin. No idea why I bought it, we're not cake people. We didn't really do much of a different shop to usual.

Lots of alcohol. Vodka, gin, whiskey, wine we received as gifts. Still they may come in handy.

A few pickles swimming in their jars, two chocolate bars from DCs' Selection Boxes, nearly a whole bottle of Vin Santo, some walnuts and four Christmas Crackers.
Plus some assorted turkey by-products in the freezer.

A ridiculous amount of chocolate & half a Christmas cake.

Report
BugritAndTidyup · 03/01/2016 18:40

Probably enough to cater for next Christmas as well, although we'd have to buy some more sprouts.

Small Turkey in the freezer
2 Christmas puddings that go OOD soon.
A Yule log
Plus multiple crisps, biscuits, chocolates.
Bottles of vodka, gin, 8 bottles of wine

We might have gone a bit over the top, but I thought we were being restrained this year Blush

Definitely cutting down a bit next year. This is just silly

Red Leicester cheese from the cheeseboard. To be used in a Macaroni cheese on Tuesday.
Crackers.
3 veggie spring rolls. To be used as part of for dinner tomorrow night.
Very pleased with how well I planned and used leftovers this Christmas (pats self on back).

Loads of cheese, pickles, pate, ham, cranberries and cream.
Enough alcohol to open our own pub and some twiglets. Last of the turkey soup was binned yesterday.

We've all been unwell over Christmas and my mother was in hospital after a fall so I'm pleased to see the back of it this year!

Lots of champagne.
Nothing else. I've given dd 2 boxes of biscuits to take back to uni and donated 3 boxes of chocs to the foodbank.
In fairness we hate Xmas cake, pudding, pannetone, mince pies etc so never buy any of that.
Took All cheese to a friends on NYE with crackers, crisps etc.

Most of the Christmas cake I made, though Dad's working his way through it. 5 tubs of Cheese Footballs (though admit I bought them after Xmas when reduced from £3 to £1!). Cheese, lots of cheese. Finished the sprouts and carrots today. 6 mini mince pies, 2 slices of Stollen. Some Heston's Xmas pud ice cream, ginger ice cream, vanilla gelato. Half a tub of dates, a whole pack of salted cashews, half a bottle of coffee Baileys (though not for long!). 2 mini Xmas puds, 2 sticky ginger puds.

Nothing that won't be used up in the general run of things, really :)
