Anyone know what GAP outlet store prices are like?

Thinking of getting a few presents from GAP and my local outlet store has a 50% off evening tonight but what are the discounts like there normally? Not sure whether to go there or to use the 35% off sale stuff on the GAP site seeing as there's a lot that's virtually half price already - is the outlet store likely to be cheaper or not?

I find ours is cheaper and if there's 50% off the outlet prices, you're bound to find some good deals.

Bargainous!

I was in our GAP outlet recently and got vest tops for £2.50, long sleeved cotton tees for about £7 and the hoodies were about £15.

Bargainous and if you sign up to their email list you get offers what feels like every week on top of sale items!
I haven't bought myself stuff from there for a while but often get DD tshirts from there for a couple of quid.

Thank you, sounds fab, turns out I can't go this evening due to minor household crisis (only online shop due to be 90 mins late) so will go first thing tomorrow and see what's left Grin

Thanks for all the advice - went yesterday morning and found some lovely stuff on the sales rail then because it was Black Friday there was 50% off that again. Got a shirt, T-shirt and 2 jumpers for DH and a T-shirt, shirt, vest and a top for me all for a little under £40!! Little bit disappointed there was very little for early teen (12-13) as dd loves Gap stuff but can't have everything. Wish dd was still tiny, there were so many beautiful baby/little girl clothes.

Also pleased because I went at about 9.20, when all the shops open at 10, to scout out whether I'd need to queue as never been to a Black Friday in that shopping centre but there were very few people about and the Gap shop was already open so had a lovely half hour virtually on my own in there gathering up my bargains then was walking out just as hordes of people were coming in Grin

Oh, and signed up to the mailing list beforehand but didn't get anything before I went but woman on the till took my email address again and said I'll get sent a 15% off for next purchase which is good.

GAP outlet stuff is cheap, but be aware most of it/all of it is lower quality stuff actually made specifically for the outlet shops and is not stuff they sell in the proper GAP stores. Was told that by someone who worked in the outlet when I queried some prices. Seems less of a bargain when you think about it

Have a nosey online too. With mailing list discounts they sometimes hit H&M prices. The delivery is good too. Poor old DS looks like he ran through their head office covered in glue most of the time.

Stuff is cheap, and I never seem to pay the ticket price - it is always lower when I get to the til and this annoys me. I like to know exactly how much everything is.

I did get a good amount of new baby clothes in there for buttons for a friend who is due any day - little knotted hats for under a quid and onesies for under three.

Paddingtonthebear - that's a shame, bit sneaky to trade off the Gap name if it's not actually the same quality clothes but will see how these last, glad I didn't get anything too pricey then. To be honest the stuff I got ended up at pretty much Primark prices so can't complain really but will bear that in mind if I want to buy again.

Thanks flinging - I had my eye on some sale stuff online to buy when they had the 35% off but think the in-store worked out slightly better with Black Friday and at least I got to see the sizes for DH as not bought Gap for him before. Lol, we all go through phases of 'covered in brand X' depending on where I've found a sale Blush

Penny - know what you mean, if it's cheaper you could have bought more!

Thanks, that's very interesting - sneaky with the 3 squares! Just grabbed my bag full out of curiosity and checked all the tags, yep all have the 3 squares! Dd's got a few things that were from the website so will have to check their tags later and look for the difference. Checked the materials at the time though and apart from my top and vest, which are cotton blends, all are 100% cotton which is still good value at the price of Primark polyester. Definitely would have second thoughts about buying the £30-£40 stuff in there now.
