Xmas movie for a 2yo

I want to get a Xmas movie for Xmas eve for us to watch with our 2yo girl. I was going to get the minion movie cos she loves Despicable Me but I'd prefer something festive. Can you recommend something your toddler has enjoyed? TIA

Thanks for the ideas! I wasn't sure if a full movie like Polar Express might have trouble keeping a littles attention. Good to know it comes recommended. And I'd forgotten about The Snowman :)

My kids both love the original Grinch Who Stole Christmas (the cartoon rather than the Jim Carey one).

The Polar Express is quite long and didn't hold my kid's attention.

The Snowman, Father Christmas and The Snowman and the Snowdog are all good.

I've got Santa Paws and Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas for this year on mn advice.

The polar express is pretty scary for little ones. There are kids getting told off, Threats of throwing them off the train, the guy on top of the train etc etc. Plus there is a premise of "non believers" which sows the seeds of doubt.

Merry Madagascar is a great idea.

In our house we still have to watch the postman pat Christmas special every year and DS1 is now 10. DH loves it and insists we watch it.

Polar express and gruffalo are too scary for my 2yo.

Santa buddies (love buddies), merry Madagascar or micky mouse Xmas are lovely. Keep it to 40 mins

Muppets christmas carol over here, we have got mickeys christmas this year, elf and the grinch. My DD is 3 in march

The Snowman, The Snowman and the Snowdog, Christmassy episodes of Peppa Pig, The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's child are all favourites here.

The Polar Express has bits that cast doubt on the reality of Santa, which makes it a pretty rubbish Christmas film to show to children who still believe in Santa IMO.

santa claus the movie is always on on christmas eve you could record it, maybe skip the bit where they freeze ;) oh and the bit where the toys break and the children cry...I think need to come up with a better option here

My son discovered The Bear when he was 2, and 16 years later we still watch it (and it brings tears to my eyes now) and have it saved on the planner. At around 30 minutes long it's just enough for a toddler.

Gruffalo scared my ds when he was that age. Another vote for the snowman - its perfect length to keep her attention. And such a lovely animation. Or madagascar/ice age christmas special too.

watched the Snowman with DS when he was 2 and he was inconsolable at the end.
He was 3 before he could articulate clearly that it wasn't so much the snowman melting that bothered him but that the boy melted too
When I watched the ending I could see his point; the boy drops to his knees in the snow and then the screen fades to a white snow scene. It does look like he melted too.
Felt terrible at 2 for inadvertently exposing him to a tragedy
But felt worse a year later when I realised that it was actually a horror movie in his eyes
Bad mammy!

Mind you never met another child that didn't love it.

Commonsensemedia.org does great reviews on movies letting you know what age it's suitable for and any "sticky" issues it might bring up. I find it great.
