Was it worth it? We have annual passes so it would be £20 each, still expensive though.

No but we are booked to do it this year. I heard very good reports last year though so fingers crossed!

Fabflo - was it busy? I can't find much info about it.

did it last year too, it was really nice and the Father Christmas was brilliant - even subtly changed the present when it was obvious DS 4 was already into Lego City stuff. It wasn't busy and we had a lovely time.

oh and we are going back this year.

Not busy. We were the only ones on the pirate ship at one point. The only time we've been with no queues!

Big tent where they can write letters to FC, decoarate biscuits and build Lego decorations to their hearts content. The lego staff are dressed as elves.

FC was lovely. It's a little magical walk among Christmas trees to see him, the castle looked lovely all lit up when it was dark.

The carousel and the swing ride area are also lit up and the bridge is lined with lit up Christmas trees.

Be aware most of the park is shut and obv dress warmly because it is a cold day out. Don't forget to claim your free hot drink!

I've convinced DH that it sounds fab but I'm struggling to find tickets for all of us for a reasonable time slot. Totally my fault for leaving it too late to book.

Were there places to eat open? (Not just snacks but more substantial meals?)

The burger/pirates kitchen are fast food restaurants serving McDonalds style food (except it is more expensive than McDonalds with a less extensive menu and poorer quality believe it or not!)

The knights table is a proper sit down restaurant in the castle. Never eaten there but its always busy so must be ok but probably still expensive - as is all theme park food.

As for time slots, we are seeing FC at 6pm. I think its magical in the dark when its all lit up. We spent four hours in the park last year and it was plenty.

We will arrive at 2ish, do the rides, eat, do the activities and the rides again. Visit FC last and then have a slow wander out of the park looking at everything lit up.

Thanks FabFlo, that's really useful. I can get a slot at 6pm on a Sunday - just waiting for DH to confirm that we should book it. I wish he would get a move on and get back to me Grin

are there extra costs for stuff like this? how long do you think people could spend there? an hour, two? three?

someone mentioned xmas eve but no tickets were ever open on xmas eve - were they?

FabFlo · 20/11/2015 18:48

Decorating biscuits, building decorations (you don't take them home, you put them on display tables) and writing letters was free.

I didn't see any activities that had to be paid for.

I don't.know.about Xmas eve, sorry.

Yay Louey! We're going the week before!

We ate in the rotisserie restaurant last year, it was a proper 2 course Christmas menu. I don't remember the prices, but remember it was very good value for a substantial meal.

I fancied the sticky toffee pudding that was only on the kids menu and the waitress immediately offered to let me have one (it was enormous and divine!)

We were booked for the 21st at 3.45pm, but they changed my daughter's pantomime schedule and she gas to be at the theatre (in Windsor) at 3pm. I couldn't get another time we could all do Sad

Just home from legoland. I didn't see a return to by the castle so couldn't get a look at the prices, though it was dark by the time we headed round ther so I probably merrily trotted past without noticing it.

The kids loved it. I was a bit peeved to queue for an hour to see Father Christmas. We'd prebooked out time. Got given our golden ticket when we arrived, the golden ticket didn't show any admission time to father Xmas, so I'm sure people just turned up when they felt like it hence the hour long queue. We were booked in for 4.15om, so got in line at 4pm as requested, we didn't see him until 5pm, so it was rather a long wait given it was so cold. I would probably book to see FC earlier if we went again in the hope the queue wouldn't be so long. There were lots of tired, crying kids in the queu at that time not to mention the meaning dads.

Other then that, the only other queue was for the biscuit decorating. It was enjoyable for the kids, so if they wanted to go again, I'd take them. The staff were very friendly. We ate in the bar in the hotel as the kids could play while we sat and had a glass of wine.

I haven't checked out the gifts from FC yet, but I've heard they're good.

Thanka for reporting back Woah.

We didn't queue for anything last year. I wonder if they are letting more people in this year?

Did you have to queue for rides?

We walked straight in last year to see FC with no queue. Think oyr time last year was 5ish. I'll be annoyed if I have to queue for an hour, it was really cold today as well so I can imagine that wasn't much fun.

Glad your DC enjoyed it though!
