Mens slippers....(sorry)

My Dh has requested some new slippers. I don't want to start a riot by asking, and will accept functionality over aesthetics (to an extent!). Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent pair? Thank you. [santa]

Avoid fluffy or (yuk) tartan, or joke.

There are some quite sensible ones in a leather moccasin design. Some have woolly linings, which I think are unnecessary unless perhaps you have a cold house. They are not too silly to wear in company, or even to drive in. Rubber pad soles have better grip and are quieter than plastic soles on hard floors. The soles made of sheepskin wear out, and let water in if you pop outside e.g. with the bins.

I think M&S do them. You can also mail order from Samuel Windsor but I think theirs have PVC soles now.

The ugly North Face slippers from the bargain thread are amazing, lovely and warm and comfortable how did my life get to typing a phrase like that? Shoot me now

Not quite so reasonably priced but DH has a pair of Barbour slippers (I think they may be called Monty?) These are better for trotting out to the bins etc and are reasonably aesthetically pleasing, as slippers go Xmas Grin

I got my OH a pair by Muk Luk through QVC last week. They're a lovely knitted stripe pattern, with a seriously loft inner lining. They have a rubber sole and are definitley perfect for taking the bins out and even popping to the corner shop

I bought my DH some Haflinger ones last year which he loves (and I'm considering asking for a pair for me for this year). We went away with a large group of friends a year ago and there was serious slipper envy yes our lives are that exciting of the people who had Haflingers. So much so that at least four of the rest of the group have got them since!

My dh always has the mocassins from M & S.Might be a bit boring but they have a proper sole as he does insist on going in the garden in them.....

Glerups. Warm, fab quality, no need for washing if worn without socks. Fab Scandi style.
