Apologies if there's a similar thread and please point me at it if so!

Just looking out for some more ideas, really. DD already has some Lego and loads of Schleich horsey stuff, plus she'll get some riding stuff as well. DS has got various Lego Ninjgo sets and the dinosaur 'Blue' from jurassic World.

What are your 8 and 10 year olds getting? GrinThanks

These are great! Loads more ideas - thank you. I'd completely forgotten about the 3D pens - both DCs have requested them. I also forgot about Doctor Who...they both love it...

We can't get Lego dimensions Sadas our Wii is the older one and not compatible.

What's a Tsum Tsum?! Confused

My DD would absolutely love her own laptop but I've said she can have one when she starts senior school next year (mean mother).

DS would love a DS - more than anything - but we just can't do it As we know he'd be wanting to play it All. The. Time. It's bad enough with minecraft on my laptop...

I'd also love a recommendation for the best 3D pens...

I have bought Dd a laptop but she did need one, she's just started high school and we don't have anything running on Windows in the house for her to do her school work on so it was a case of needing rather than wanting, I will be using it too so it's kind of a joint present. I bought a really good reconditioned one for £150.

If you do look at Dr Who toys, the 5'' figures/tardis are much better than the smaller ones. And the first ever proper Dr Who Lego set is out next month.

Last year I got ds who was 7 a sonic screwdriver and he loved it, along with his lightsabre!

This year he is getting a 3ds from Santa and his stocking. We go halves with his dad for all of that. He wants a big speaker but am getting him a bluetooth/usb/cd player system for his birthday so no.
He also has...
A saltrock hoodie that he desperately wanted.
Tom Gates books.
Dr Who encyclopedia (from his brother who ripped last years! )
A couple of dvds.
Now 91 (92 coming also from my sister)
Bow and arrow (nerf type but not nerf lol)

His dad is also getting him a skateboard deck and then he can choose how to customise it and choose his own wheels etc.

I need to think of a couple more items. I was really stuck this year but think he has a good haul coming so far.

Good stuff, Chimpy! My DS loves Tom Gates too Smile

Anyone know of the best 3D pens?? There seems to be so many…maybe I'll go by the Amazon reviews...

Just reviving this thread to see if anyone else has anything they've bought for similar aged children which they wouldn't mind sharing! Smile
I've added some Yoda pj's, a periscope, a Dr Who book and some Schleich dinosaurs (so expensive Shock) to DS(8)'s haul.
DD(10) also has various earrings, a lovely book about horses, a riding hoodie (born to ride) and some Lush bath bombs.

Sorry been out doing some shopping in real shops, note to self, stick to the Internet.

Got the Instatwist from Argos a while back when they had a deal and with a £10 voucher. Probably worth looking around to see if any Black Friday deals on it.

Another Mumsnetter tried the GooDee 3D pen at a trade fair and thought it would be a good buy for 11 year old. Amazon reviews seemed good for it as well. Also I ordered some extra ink from Rigid.Ink as well.

Thanks for the info!
I've decided not to go for the 3D pen - maybe for a birthday next year. I think I'm done now - just need some slightly dangly earrings for DD and I've ordered the Nerf Modulus for DS.
Thanks everyone for sharing!

Hi SheSells, the Harry Potter stuff won't be anything like the gift shop - my game plan is to get them cheap versions of everything BEFORE we go to the Studios and nothing is ever impressive again!!!!

Anyway - stationery, mug, quidditch hoody so far. Thought about the lovely new book as it's half price on amazon but I saw it irl and it's too big for the bookcase I was thinking it would live on. We already have a paperback of each book so would be having stuff for the sake of it really.

Have a look at 'Harry Potter Page to Screen' - it's quite simply the best book EVER if you like love HP. I found it half price last year (think it's £40 full price).
