I sorted out the Christmas cupboard last weekend and found the children's Christmas picture books. DD begged me to read her one of them last Sunday evening as a 'special treat'. I agreed, but as you can probably guess, she has twisted my arm every night this week!

My solution has been to order a few new Christmas books online in case sh gets bored of the ones we have by December, lol.

We're Christmas free at the moment, but the favourite bedtime stories throughout the summer were The Snowman, Mr Christmas and The Gruffalo's Child (which is always on TV at Christmas so in my mind is Christmassy). Hoping we can hold off Christmas stories until the end of November! (Although I've just booked pantomime tickets Smile)

We had the Jolly Christmas Postman the other day. We really enjoyed it too!

No - I take out the books on 1st December (or the weekend before) as otherwise we have too much anticipation in the household (bitter experience emoticon!).

I am in full on organization mode, and DD is happy to know about that, and she has started to listen to Christmas FM on her iPod, Home Alone is a year round favourite movie - but she knows that I won't read Christmas stuff until almost Christmas itself.

She's 9, and turns 10 over Christmas, so the season is BIG in our household...

Christmas stories around the advent candle with hot choc and marshmallows, so they definitely don't come out until Dec 1st.

We've been reading Stick Man all year which has taught him a little bit about Santa and Christmas.

Father Christmas needs a wee is one of dd's favourite books and it's regularly requested all year round but the rest of the christmas books are currently stored in the garage and they'll stay there till December.

We always have Stickman and gruffalo's child too which I agree is quite christmassy

Our Christmas books and DVD's are 'delivered' with the December 1st hamper. I did buy 2 more books today though to add to our collection. DH needs to get in the loft for me to check which ones we have already, I know we have several but can't swear to exactly which ones lol. I'm on the hunt for a few more as I think a couple we have are too young for dc's now.
I really enjoy reading the Christmas stories, dc's choose one each every night throughout December and The Jolly Christmas Postman & The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas are firm favourites.

Dd often asks for Christmas stories throughout the year, but I told her that when we read a story about Father Christmas it alerts him and he'll watch her behaviour closely for the evening. Blush She usually changes her mind. Grin
We have had a few renditions of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer recently though. ..
