It is ds' birthday soon and we won't be getting a massive amount but just wondered what was a hit with people's dc for inspiration?

A unicycle , but he will put the hours of practice in that's needed because he really really wants to ride one .

A DD here and it was a golf trolley. Closely followed by named golf balls.
Might not help you Bodiddly unless your DS is into golf Smile

Lol no, not unless Top Golf counts! Not sure the unicycle would work either.

A few of them have had Heelys this year so that might be worth considering. Wonder if he would end up breaking his neck though?

I was going to say Heelys too. My 10 year old DD loves hers. I'm seriously considering getting DS some for his birthday (he's almost 9).

Isn't 10 too old for a leapband watch thing!

Weirdly my DS (who loves all things console and minecraft) loved a board game we got called Wordsearch.

He can play it on his own or up to 4 can play and he has played it every day since Christmas. It's cheaper in Argos than anywhere else we saw it.

My dd who is 10 has the wordsearch game too and likes it. She liked a lap tray with a little lamp normally for crafting and art supplies. So I think 10 is an age when they might like things for hobbies they enjoy. She already has a tablet and a bike which were her favourite birthday presents.

Fifa 15 I'm afraid, predictably and about 1000 matchattax cards

Guiness bk of records gamer edition and a Ripley 2015 book went down well with DS (10). He liked his 3DS Pokemon game and a Lego one for xBox but neither have been played with extensively. He loves his new dressing gown Wink

Thanks, will check out the leapband and the word search game. He already has FIFA and toooooo many match attax!

Cheap games table

Huge hit this Christmas. It was cheap so I wasn't expecting much but it's well made and was easy to set up.

It is small compared to others but we don't have a lot of spare room so it's perfect (didn't attach legs so it can be stored under bed). I don't know who's having more fun with it - DS or DH. Xmas Grin

Also a big hit is Terraria xbox game.

I did my own version of a Battle Box. I don't live in the UK and it's too expensive to have the real thing delivered. He LOVED it! It helps that we have had a particular mild Christmas so he's spent many hours building his den at the end of our garden.

She'd have loved Heelys but due to major growth spurts I won't fork out for them. A unicycle sounds bloody fab!!

Report

BattleBox looks great but as an only child I'm not sure he would do it on his own. He is always out at football or judo etc anyway!
