Help me find a "Man DVD" for DH - not Top Gear if at all possible

He likes motor racing (mainly F1 but anything with an engine will do Hmm), Air Crash Investigation, Trains (secret train spotter) and horror (which I intensely dislike so would rather not indulge that particular fondness).

Gawd, he sounds a prize, doesn't he? Grin
I almost feel defensive now and feel the need to say that he also likes kittens, enjoys cuddles on the sofa and cries at soppy ads….

So, any ideas?
Amazon Prime is a condition as well of course!

TIA Smile

Is that Pete Waterman series on DVD?

LeftyLoony · 21/12/2014 10:09

Or this

Ahardyfool · 21/12/2014 10:11

Is there any Guy Martin stuff in DVDS form maybe?

PacificDogwood · 21/12/2014 10:11

Oh, good ideas, both! Thank you.

I had not thought of searching for National Geographic DVDs - see I know, MN would help me out Grin

Go on Amazon Movies & TV and select Documentaries, then New or Best Sellers - that should give you lots of ideas.

There are new documentaries on Ali and Le Mans. The David Beckham rainforest adventure is out on DVD. Michael Portillo's great railway journeys. What about Senna or Rush?

If he likes horror there is a lovely set of the classic Universal Horrors on DVD or Blu-ray. There is also a Guillermo Del Toro Collection which is a bit more highbrow if you want to avoid the gorno genre!

PacificDogwood · 21/12/2014 10:13

Lefty, I take you meant Pete Waterman the train man, not PW the popster? Grin

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 21/12/2014 10:13

By the way, I like trains, engines and also used work distributing horror movies and I am DEFINITELY a prize. Grin

LeftyLoony · 21/12/2014 10:14

Same bloke isn't it?

The guy martin 'closer to the edge dvd' is pretty good.

MaxsMummy2012 · 21/12/2014 10:19

And there's a dvd about Ayrton Senna, I think it was just called Senna which is supposed to be good.

PacificDogwood · 21/12/2014 10:22

Is it the same guy?? Really?
Gosh, I am actually quite impressed Shock

Just got this one - it'll go down a treat. DH and BiL will watch it together and enjoy all the crashes Hmm

We've got Senna and many many many other racing DVDs…
But hey ho, it's Christmas!

Glad you've found something suitable Xmas Smile

I was going to suggest the 'long way down/round' dvds or 'by any means'. But they'd only work for motorbike enthusiasts. so we own them all

PacificDogwood · 21/12/2014 10:42

Oh, we greatly enjoyed the Wrong way round DVDs - like I said, anything with an engine will do: tractor racing, lorry racing, classic cars, speed boats… Sigh.

I've bought these for DP. Not dvds but engine related nonetheless.

I do sympathise pacific I have 4 men like this to buy for. Former rally driver, steam engine lover FIL, a biker and 2 anything fast with wheels lovers in the making.

curiousgeorgie · 21/12/2014 12:45

The documentary 'King Of Kong' is a man dvd and also, just plain brilliant!

CawCanny · 22/12/2014 05:48

I came on to suggest that very one you've just bought Pacific
It is BRILLIANT!
If he's a F1 fan he will love it. DH and I watched the whole thing with our mouths like this Shock Shock

PacificDogwood · 22/12/2014 07:10

rumtumtugger · 22/12/2014 20:05

Frozen?

PacificDogwood · 22/12/2014 20:51

Grin @ Frozen - great idea, but we've got it already and all my 5 4 boys love it although would die of mortification if they knew that I know that.

Caulk, you are v lovely but IceRoad Fuckers Truckers have been a feature in this house for too long, so no, really. But thank you for thinking of me Thanks

CaulkheadUpNorth · 22/12/2014 20:55
