What have you brought your OH for Xmas?

Twinklestar2 · 19/12/2014 22:25

It's my OH's bday 2 days after xmas so I've got double the presents to buy! Anyone fancy sharing their list?

We became first time parents this year so I've got him a I Love Daddy mug and a Star Wars book from our little boy.

I've got him some Ted Baker smellies in a washbag and some thermal socks (our house is freezing!).

Any more ideas would be gratefully received Smile

Nothing. Christmas is for kids only in this house. We don't do birthdays either. Neither of us is interested.

Sorry, that was incredibly unhelpful!

I hope you get some good suggestions from present givers and enjoy!

same thing I get him every year - a selection of scents. This year it's one dkny and a couple of calvin klein scents.
I suspect the espresso machine he got me for my birthday a couple of weeks ago is going to end up being my xmas gift too Grin although I have dropped a few hints about slippers and contouring kits.

I have bought 38 presents this year. And nothing for DP. Bless him

Was going to suggest that a voucher might be a good idea. Night in hotel, cookery class or golf lessons. Depends on his interests and your budget.

My DHs birthday is 2 days before Christmas !
Boring stuff like underwear and socks ( because he won't go and buy it himself )
Shirt
Fishing rod
Cadburys dairy milk bar ( large )
In previous years I would have bought him a nice bottle of red wine ( about £10-£12 ) and a Torres Spanish Brandy but he's decided that alcohol and him don't work
So I need ideas too

DHs birthday was a few weeks ago. He got - a popcorn maker, popcorn seasoning, aftershave, polo shirt.

For xmas - 5 collectors edition cds that he's wanted for ages. Another aftershave, slippers, hair clippers, book. Might get him a nice jumper aswell.

Do is getting a record player, probably not the kind of thing everyone would want.

Maybe design a calendar with picture of DS. Worlds best Dad frame and picture. A picture with hand and foot prints.

One of those pictures which says what DS and OH enjoy doing. They have different sized fonts and coloured text. Think they are from "Not on the high street" website.

Haunt your local charity shops for vinyl records or you can get them on amazon at a reasonable price ( we have 3 record players in this house!).
Having said that, I bought DH one if those Bluetooth speakers this Xmas - Jambox?

I've only bought a few small things, we don't spend much on each other at Christmas.

3 books
A mug that says 'Respect the Beard' (which is so perfect for him)
Beer
Sweeties
Nuts

Nothing exciting but he'll be pleased.

Star Wars cereal bowl sounds good!

Also looking into a Daddy frame Smile

I've seen a I love my daddy book on Amazon too.

I can't buy him clothes as when I've done that in the past, I've always got it wrong.

Great ideas, keep them coming!

boring stuff - he hates clothes shopping, so always asks for socks, pants, and work shirts. also a book of maps that neatly straddles the geeky/cool boundary.

his birthday is in January, so I spend more on him then when the sales are on. I also tend to get him some theatre tickets for his birthday as well, as the man has a peculiar devotion to cheesy musicals.

Posh tea
Kitchenaid
Books on maps & cooking (GBBO)
Wireless speaker for his ipad because I am fed up of the tinny noise that comes from the kitchen when he's in there
Sugar thermometer
Secateurs
Seeds and bulbs
Infographic book - lots of statistics and facts in pretty picture format
Tea towel (exciting!)

I did a report card for DP when Dc1 was still a baby as if written by DC1 - bit of fiddling about on the PC. That went down pretty well & I got to tell him all the things he was doing well at being a new dad, and give him a friendly nudge on what he could improve on (night wakings!)

I've bought my DH a new iPhone this xmas as his has been broken for ages, we don't normally do expensive presents but I had a little bonus from work so thought I'd treat him.

Normally it's clothes and aftershave or a book or similar.
