? I need inspiration! Mine just likes chocolate and alcohol both of which he has plenty of!

In fact my brother in law is the same so I don't know what to get him either...looks like my sister married my dad!

Pair of posh socks
Posh dark choc orange creams
Bananagrams Grin he played it with the DC and loved it

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 27/11/2014 19:53

No idea. Might get him a t-shirt ( he likes to think he's young and cool with things like Superdry shirts!) and a hamper of his favourite chocolate bars - mars bars, wagons wheels, etc, so he has a stash to take to work.

my dad had a very small cameo appearance in and Sinatra movie back in the sixties and I'm hoping to get a screen shot of him in it. he's only in it for 7 seconds or so, so might be hard but I think I can do it.

other than that he usually enjoys a good book, whiskey and liquorice.

fanjodisfunction · 27/11/2014 20:14

Montezuma do some good chocolate gifts

GirlAnachronism · 27/11/2014 23:04

world of warcraft megablocks, but my dad may have slightly unique tastes.....

For his birthday I got my dad a tour around the stadium of the football team he supports - he loved it, is that something he might like?

The problem I have now is finding something better for christmas!

UniS · 27/11/2014 23:09

I've just got dad a "ding" bell like you get on a hotel reception, he will love it, and drive mum up the wall for a day or two the n it will join his collection of bells and then get taken to the bellringers annual dinner..... £5 , job done, inspired present thanks to the mary berry collection of cookware at major supermarket.

My dad is easy to buy for, I sort of rotate Football team related , bell ringing related and bunting.
My brother is harder, my brother is cool.
I am not cool.

I've ordered him a watercolour skyline of his hometown and a couple of books.

SoMuchForSubtlety · 28/11/2014 06:27

This book. My dad is impossible to buy for so I just get random things that I think are interesting! I bought him Plants vs Zombies last year for the computer and he had a great time playing it.

ThePortlyPinUp · 28/11/2014 06:34

Mine is 51 and thinks he is a teenager so I am buying him his favourite band t shirt and cd. For his birthday yesterday he got a new Harrington jacket from me and DH and a overnight wash bag with contents from the dd's as he stays out at friends most weekends.

Medge68 · 28/11/2014 06:41

Books or DVDs about the local area. Got him a smashing book about the 2WW in our county for this year.

AggressiveBunting · 28/11/2014 07:00

Cycling top and a bottle of whisky... every year. Boring but it's what he wants. He doesnt eat chocolate as he has a heart condition that is aggravated by it and if I buy books he complains he could have got it at the charity shop in Jan for 50p (he has a point)

Lovelydiscusfish · 28/11/2014 07:03

I try to find new murder mystery or historical adventure books he hasn't read yet. Thus year I got come novelisations of the TV show "The Killing", among others.
Also will get him some mint Matchmakers!

anyoldname76 · 28/11/2014 07:34

I've bought my dad a blu ray player and a robot nutcracker. He's got slippers and a beanie off my dc.
The blu ray player is a shared gift for him and my mum though.

BreeVDKamp · 28/11/2014 07:40

This year we're getting him either an indoor skydive or weightlessness experience, can't remember which we decided on!

Last year got him a big encyclopaedia type book of herbs and spices and a nice pestle and mortar.

CleaninQueen · 28/11/2014 09:40

This year my step dads getting a cruise to the Bahamas we didn't actually spend that much on it. He'll also get a bottle of whiskey

clr2014 · 28/11/2014 11:40

ShatnersBassoon · 28/11/2014 11:44
