All about the DC or PIL or DH/P

SO what are you hoping for?!

OP posts:
pinoli · 22/11/2014 18:14

I've got 30 things in my wish list, DP is under instructions not to buy more than 5!

I hoping for: food mixer, popper fastening spa towel (loved my old one but it's died a death), cashmere socks, some Laura mercier stuff (my mate works the counter and knows what I want) and some new tweezermans!

Pandora ring, Michael kors handbag . Mac makeup and brushes. Dh was told I'd accept any of them

scrappydappydoo · 22/11/2014 18:53

Oh just came on to ask a similar question - looking for inspiration as I'm being pestered for a list. I want kindle vouchers but have been told that vouchers are not a 'proper' present Hmm so what do I want? don't wear make up or perfume, not interested in clothes (have what I need), don't cook or garden.

Arlagirl · 22/11/2014 18:56

I have just ordered myself some Mint Velvet stuff as h and I will not be doing gifts.
I will ask dcs for books/CDs.

HerrenaHarridan · 22/11/2014 18:57

Ha, I'm a lone parent, no bugger to do this for me. Sad

But that's ok I'm on it. Grin

So far I have a nice bottle of single malt whiskey, a beautiful notebook a a pair of super comfy slippers... And yes I am going to wrap them Grin

TwoNoisyBoys · 22/11/2014 19:04

Herrena, I'm with you there! I'm a single parent too, although I do have a fella, we don't live together and he doesn't really "do" Christmas (although I am very lucky and get spoilt terribly throughout the year with other things!)
Soooo, I was thinking of doing exactly the same as you and letting the two DS's hand me some beautifully wrapped presents on the 25th December that I just KNOW I'll love Wink

HerrenaHarridan · 22/11/2014 19:07

Tis the good way.

There's not point moping about others not fulfilling your needs. Get on the job

TwoNoisyBoys · 22/11/2014 19:11

Exactly! There's a bottle of honey Jack Daniels out there with my name on Wink

Arlagirl · 22/11/2014 19:14

Well h and I are divorcing so that's why there'll be nothing under the tree from him!!

RunawayReindeer · 22/11/2014 19:21

I really really really want..... A Dyson animal Blush but I cannot and will never ever never be able to afford a hoover for that much! (can you hear mini violins playing??)

And dd2 (7 mo) is picking up all kinds of hair and bits of food off the carpet... It's a full time.job untangling her!

So fc.... Ahem... I really do believe!!! Xmas Grin

wintersdawn · 22/11/2014 19:23

I'm challenging my DH to buy me something under £20 that is a surprise, not from lush and it has to show he put thought into it, not walked into boots on the way home on Christmas Eve! I really don't care what it is I just want a total surprise that shows an inkling of thought.

olbas · 22/11/2014 19:29

According to my husband, I'm impossible to buy for Sad So I just did a mental list of things I would really love. Not one of them cost more than £20 and most of them were under £5.

HerrenaHarridan · 22/11/2014 19:33

TwoNoisyBoys. Currently £16 in sainsburys Wink

Runaway reindeer. I bought my dyson refurbished from cash converters for £60 and it's lasted through 4 house moves, living with 5 dogs and children.

noisytoys · 22/11/2014 19:33

I've bought myself a parlux hairdryer. To me, from me. It's far more than I would normally pay for a hairdryer but it's what I really want. Everyone else is getting what they want so I am too Smile

Arlagirl · 22/11/2014 19:34

Ooh Parlux hairdryers are wonderful.

JetJungle · 22/11/2014 19:37

I love this watch so much that I have stopped hinting widly, and have now just asked for it outright.

I need my DH to get this colour and am not sure he will get it right unless I am specific about it.

Its fair to say that I'm excited Xmas Grin

ProveMeWrong · 22/11/2014 19:38

I really want a handheld dyson or something like. DH REALLY doesn't want to buy me a housework you device for me, but I do really want it! It's like a gadget for me really!

And I want a watch, he wants to get me one like his that I bought him a couple of years ago, I think it's called an eco drive because he loves his. Him telling me that was actually a bigger present than me getting a watch though in a way!

And some Mac makeup which I hope miraculously gets rid of the wrinkles that seem to be encroaching ever since I turned 30 last year.

youarewinning · 22/11/2014 19:40

Another LP here. DS asked me why Fc never gives me a stocking (he's 10yo!) and I said he only does it got children as it's too much. He suggested I out it out just to see.

Inspired by this thread I think I might! I'm sure they'll be nice gifts in there that I would have chosen myself on Christmas morning Grin

HerrenaHarridan · 22/11/2014 19:43

I haven been considering doing myself a stocking Smile

Let's do it.

bluecoconut · 22/11/2014 21:11

I would love a promise from DH that I can spend a whole 24 hours in bed uninterrupted. No cooking, no chores and no DC. Bliss.

Lifesalemon · 22/11/2014 22:09

I have made a list that is mostly made up of craft materials, yarn etc and books but going to add bluecoconut's idea too and then I might get chance to actually use the stuff on the list!

SouthernOne · 22/11/2014 22:32

Gucci Guilty perfume, mine just ran out:)

Lifesalemon, I am actually going to tell him that 24 hours in bed, and £50 so I can treat myself to a massage/facial is all I want. When I casually point out he won't have to spend hours traipsing around the stores, he may become very amenable to the idea Grin

savemefromrickets · 22/11/2014 22:37

It's an odd mix for me. I want a little bottle of Hendricks Gin and I want my radiotherapy to start. The two together would be just perfect.

FruitBasedDrinkForALady · 22/11/2014 22:39

I did my list for DH last night. I've just bought myself a load of clothes and a pair of boots and I don't want to wait until Christmas for them! I put extra nice slippers and a couple of jumpers on it, told him to buy one thing...they're all on sale, so maybe he'll be generous Wink I also got myself a lovely uniqlo silk shirt, which I've given him to wrap for me.
