DS1 will be 18mo by Christmas & I'm stuck for what to get as stocking fillers. DS2 is due in 4 weeks time and I've wrapped some of DS1's baby toys for him to go under the tree just for photo & DS1's sake really (not bothering with a stocking at a few weeks old!)
DS1 has I've just realised been a bit of a PFB so got loads of toys last Christmas & his Birthday in May, & we've just brought stuff as & when we've thought it would be nice for him to get a new toy totally spoilt and it's all still really relevant, and he still plays/learns from it all, not yet grown out of any of it.
With DS2 on the way my nesting instinct is trying to keep things nice & tidy & minimal so we haven't brought too much for DS1 this time round - just 2/3 largish boxed type items (so they look big enough & not stingy under the tree) and their accessories - so 6/7 presents under the tree. All other items have been given to family as suggestions as to what they might like to buy when they have asked what they could get.
last year DS1 had a big personalised Santa Sack made by MIL (their tradition has always been sack not stocking, which I'd never heard of ) but this year I don't want to use that as it's so big, I'd end up filling it with more pointless plastic crap when I'm already trying to keep things to a minimum, so I thought a nice small stocking. But what the hell do u put in a stocking for an 18mo boy?! I remember my stockings being full of hair clips, bubble bath, chocs, pink frills that kind of thing, not what a boy would like at all so am really stuck as to what to get DS!
sorry this post is really long & rambling & mispelt and has bad grammar but please help me!
