I am a bit short of ideas for the DSes this year, we never really do 'Big' presents as they are happier with a pile of smaller presents :) They are both getting some Lego and books and a board game each but I could use a couple of other ideas. Budget £5-10 each present, no tat! They like playing outdoors, drawing/writing, and making up their own random pretend games...

I have bought DS (6) a torch that you can put different filters on so when you shine it at the wall you get a shadow/picture.

Also bought a Lego storage head and a horrid science kit.

Thanks :) Do you have a link for the torch?

Should have said, they will get sticker books (Lego!) and pens in their stockings.

dino dice and story cubes are on my amazon wishlist after comments on MN.

I'm so sorry but I have never done a link Blush. Its called Brainstorm Toys Space Torch by Eureka and I got it on Amazon - they have others as well as the space theme.

I've also bought from Amazon on same theme a 'Moon in my Room' which is great fun - a bit more expensive but I don't mind paying a bit more to avoid the 'tat' like you.

ShesAStar · 23/09/2014 19:12

addictedtosugar thanks for that - another stocking filler done!!

Oh - I have just thought of something - they loved some magnetic poetry they had at a museum recently so I'll look for some of that.

Hexbug. About 6 pounds I think and great and very very small for storage so good for parents

I've just bought a Natural History Museum pocket microscope from Amazon - it has good reviews, so hoping it will be good.

fuzzpig · 24/09/2014 21:48

We have that microscope, it is good :)

DS is 5 and will mainly be getting lego too, other than that a jigsaw maybe and a board game, possibly an accessory for their wooden train set.

DD is 7 and will also be getting lego, I'm pondering a little skate ramp or something.

5yo DS is really into Top Trumps at the moment. It has really helped his reading and number recognition, as well as teaching him how to lose gracefully.

He has three packs and I'll probably get him two for Christmas. Once you collect five you get one free.
