Does anyone run a garland up their staircase?

If so, is it a really long one?

I have looked online and can only find them at around 6-9ft, and I am estimating that I would need much more than that (it is a normal size staircase BTW, with a small extra bit on the landing)

Am I meant to twist several smaller ones together? TIA Smile

I put two on the stairs. It seems to be the perfect length.

Oh yes. I love my greenery up the stairs. I have shed loads.

I put a few on the stairs to make it up to a decent length and depth

I am disappointed this is not a euphemism.

Yes, I have three on mine to make it long enough. Love a garland! I have scented pine cones in it so it smells all Christmassy too!

That would be the back passage.

Yes but I make mine every year out of silver birch from the garden (smug). It is very silvery and beautiful.

I run a string of lights garland up the bannister, it helps cheer up the hallway.

I bought this one:

www.xmasdirect.co.uk/garlands-and-wreaths/christmas-garlands/garpcb-pine-and-berry-christmas-garland

and it's perfect for our standard length staircase (semi detached 1930's house). There were hooks already underneath the bannister so we don't twist it around the bannister, it just sits nicely in front of it, which probably helps length wise. I added some extra decorations like dried orange slices and ribbons and then twisted some lights in at the end. It looks beautiful!

That made me snigger in a most unbecoming manner tighty Grin

Several garlands is the key then? Will investigate xmasdirect, thanks pickwick

Costco do 3m ones, I have a beautiful one I bought from there four years ago and it looks as good as new.

YY , I put one up the stairs and round the bannister on the landing (in a double arch loop shape)

Costco - oooh I need to look when they get all their Christmas stock in, I bought some from those The Christmas Shop places that open up in shopping centres, but last year some were a bit scabby so we threw them out.

Just bought some on XmasDirect. Plain ones which I will spruce up (ha!) with extra berries and orange slices etc. Thanks everyone.

"How about we go upstairs and you let me run my garland up your staircase..."

I love it. My new favourite. Beats, "take me up the north mountain" from Frozen.
