Every year my dc do a xmas hamper for their grandparents. Mix of home made things, and little bits they buy.

I am struggling of things they can make this yr, the last few years they have made calendars, photo frames, tea towels - DC will be 9 and 6.

You can make your own soap and scented candles, decorate egg cups, knit or sew a padded tea cosy. You could add a mug with their photo on it.

They could bake some cookies or make some marshmallows, soft caramels or Turkish delight (recipes online for these and the soap and candles.)

My dd wants to paint everyone a flower pot. She is 4 so it is going to look terrible but if yours are older it might look quite good. You could include seeds and small spade and trowel. In last yearshe made everyone a small salt dough decoration painted it and covered it in glitter, they are all still up (hanging off windows/kitchen doors) at the grandparents/aunts etc.

Get them to make a selection of different biscuits, and get them to design the box incorporating a collage of photographs :)

B&m usually have paint your own garden gnomes. Would be a nice present for a grandparent Smile

Do they drink bottled beers? Im doing Reindeer Beers for all the beer drinkers this year.
Brown pipe cleaners bent like antlers, googly eyes and a red fluffy pom pom nose on each bottle.

Can they sing? My DDs have downloaded backing tracks on iTunes and recorded their voices singing over on the computer then burned it to a disc and made a cover.
My parents still play it at parties to torture their friends Grin

Some fab ideas thank you! They love getting homemade things from the children but it is hard to keep finding new ideas.

Donthackmenow dd made Hama bead coasters when she was 4/5. They were quite easy and looked good Smile
