We're thinking of taking dc to Disneyland Paris in the Christmas break, either over Christmas itself, or New Year's Eve.

Has anyone been? Any recommendations on hotels? Whether Christmas or New Year would be better?

I like Hotel New York over Christmas, it's Art Deco style and huge tree was beautiful....

We went in early December and it was lovely, the decorations and the parade ending with Santa was probably the best thing my DD had ever seen Grin

I went last year for a couple of days between christmas and new year. the decorations, parades etc are lovely. It was a little cold but was fine once we wrapped up warm, and it meant the parks weren't too busy. I've heard it is absolutely rammed in there on NY eve but is fairly quiet on christmas day itself.

We went over Christmas and new year. Christmas Day was quiet but New Year's Eve was mad/hectic! I would not recommend going at New Year Eve, although the fireworks was brilliant. The only thing I did find was our DCs didn't want to go into the park on Christmas Day as they just wanted to play with their new toys!

We have also been at the end of November and that was lovely.

Thanks for the tips, especially about avoiding NYE as I was leaning towards that.

I quite fancy taking the kids next christmas. Well, beginning of December. When is the best time to book? Where is the best place to stay? What things would I need to know before hand? How much roughly would it cost fir 1 adult and 2 kids? What extras would I need to budget for?

Sorry to interupt your thread with all these questions.

How much it costs really depends on where you stay, for how long and what things you want to do and see ilovelamp82

I recommend going over to the Trip advisor forum (they have one dedicated to Disneyland Paris) as the experts there can answer all your questions, plus many more you didn't think you had!

We're going this year just before Christmas. We've got 4 nights 5 days in Sequoia Lodge. We upgraded to a Golden Forest room so we get a less fraught breakfast & afternoon tea every afternoon.
We booked ages ago & got a really good deal.
We've been once before at Christmas & stayed in the Disneyland Hotel but the price hike for there now is huge!
It was very cold, so this year we're going prepared with blankets & thermal mugs!!
