But I am being grumpy. Happy shopping.

Got DD 4 Angelina Ballerina books on eBay for a grand total of £4 including p&p which I was chuffed about, she's going through a big Angelina phase and I'm hoping it lasts until Christmas wink.

Got DS the We're going on a bear hunt board game brand new on eBay again for £7!

Got each of them their The Snowman soft toy for North Pole breakfast gifts. £8 from mothercare in the clearance.

Spent £15 on three beautiful teddy bears for Christmas Eve hampers for them. Got a 50% off voucher code for a website called wauwaa and couldn't not use it!

That's it so far. Building it up slowly but surely though, also started on the decorations needed this year!

Two dvds, a toy 'pick and mix' sweetie dispenser, 'Guess who?' game all for DD - £23

A dvd and pirate activity set for one nephew £5.50

A dvd for another nephew £2.50.

Pop up pirate for my niece £12.50. (Wasn't on sale, I bought it for DD'S birthday and so did mil so I put it away for DN instead of taking it back)

So £43.50 (I think, I'm crap at maths and I've had a glass of wine!)

Nothing bought yet (and DS has his birthday in Dec , he'll be 15 )
But I'm starting to pick up table/cookware.
I'm going to buy some white serveware (I have a huge rectangular white plate from Sainsburys for Yorkshires and roast potatoes, but I need some smaller plates/bowls for veg)

Nothing. I don't start Christmas shopping until December or it doesn't feel Christmassy. Christmas shopping in July is just... bleurgh!

Thanks to Reastie and her wonderful thread, I have enough for Xmas and their upcoming birthdays :P

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping Thu 31-Jul-14 08:03:17

So far I have just spent £120 on a secondhand laptop for DD1

I have no idea at all what to get DD2 and DD3. I'm fed up of them not playing with or breaking all of their toys!

fuzzpig Thu 31-Jul-14 08:06:28

So excited I pressed send too early! blush

Anyway I love these threads.

So far we have:

Playmobil pyramid for DD (7) and DS (5) - will have had this for over 18 months by then, snapped it up when it was on sale prior to going out of production! £40

BrainBox art game - finally found it at the local independent game shop. £10

Top Trumps - new tradition (can't really call it a tradition yet but YKWIM!) is a set in each of their stockings. Actually got used sets on eBay because the ones I wanted are out of print - Pixar Incredibles for DS and Roald Dahl for DD. £10

Robbie the Reindeer DVD box set. £3

I think that's it? We have a couple of other things in the cupboard but those are for DS' 5th birthday next month. I have plenty of ideas on my wishlist though.

So far I've bought DH 5 pairs of Joules boxers and a Joules jumper. Then I've got DM some Joules slippers. Total cost should have been £129.65, but I go them for £49.70 so I saved £79.95 smile Love the bargain threads!

BittersweetSymphony Thu 31-Jul-14 11:32:43

So far I've spent £38.15 on some stocking bits for DP, DD's main present, and part of DM's present.

Molton Brown Handcream for Auntie - 6 in sale
Apron and pot holder for mum H&M - 10

Its my mum's birthday on christmas eve so go a bit crazy with her presents. Loads more to get.

0pheliaBalls Thu 31-Jul-14 19:19:11

Holmes I see your point but buying stuff through the year means it's much easier to budget, and you can take advantage of sales etc to pick up bargains as and when you see them smile

So far I've probably spent about £100, all on DD (I only buy for her and DH). Bought her a Nook Glowlight for half price, a few bits of clothes in various sales, some toiletries, DVDs, that sort of thing. I'll be buying her main present, and all DH's stuff, closer to Christmas but I'll probably be all done by the end of November.

Fcukfifa Thu 31-Jul-14 19:59:50

I have bought ds, who will be just under two a big wooden train table from tesco that was £40

buddles Sat 02-Aug-14 11:59:52

For DS, 2.8 at Christmas:

Happy land dino play set £17.50 down from £35

Elc wallop a worm game £2.50 down from £8 iirc.

I did buy a happy land nurse set for £2.50 down from £5 but caved in and gave it to him when he found it I'm a soft touch

So just £20 on the two so far but fab savings. This is the earliest I've ever started tho had tree up, presents all bought and wrapped by dec 1st last year so I'm aiming for the same this year grin

PinkSquash Sat 02-Aug-14 15:04:38

£4.99 on a forensics fingerprint kit for DS1 and that's it.

Have a list to purchase from the bargain thread though, they're lifesavers
