Food prep
DP takes DS2 to the cinema
Chinese for tea!

Last year I got up early to go to M&S and went for a wee sneaky coffee on my own. Some peace before the storm. Must remember to do the same this year.

Walk on Hampstead Heath with friends, then back to friends house for dinner and wine.

Love Xmas eve more than the day, usually prepare all the veg and have a Hoover round, watch a Xmas DVD in the afternoon, DC prob out and about as youngest is 16.
In the evening we all gather for a takeaway, then DH goes to the pub with his bro for a swift half then we sort out all the presses ready for FC fgrin

It's DH' s birthday, usually we'd be out for a nice meal & MIL would babysit, but this year we're economising, so will be dinner at home... booooo!

Ds is getting a Christmas eve hamper grin so be jammies, movies & hot chocolate etc.

Got a film for us to watch once dh is in bed, will have bubbles & bubbly smile

We will go for a walk/scoot/bike ride to burn off a bit of energy.

Kids are going into work with DH for the morning and I am going to go and buy his birthday present. (I know, pesky birthday next week). Then lunch together. Soup and bread for dinner and then carols, minced pies and wine at a friends street in the evening. Hopefully not too late a night for the overexcited DDs. Then probably some more wine....fsmile

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams Wed 18-Dec-13 16:53:08

Im at work «booo» til 11pm. DH and DD (2yo), will do the mince pies and whiskey out for santa and watch Shrek the Halls. DH will then wrap the last of the gifts and lay dds out under the tree.

Jollyb Wed 18-Dec-13 16:46:12

DP is taking DD1 into the city for his work's Xmas party so I will have a relaxed morning with DD2. We'll then drive down to my mother's in the afternoon. Children's crib service in the church and then a relaxed meal with lots of wine. I was 8 weeks pregnant last year and felt lousy so really looking forward to it.

phantomhairpuller Wed 18-Dec-13 16:27:43

Last minute preparation all day I'd imagine, then I'm off to work a night shift so DH and my dad (who's staying with us for Christmas) will be in charge of present distribution grin

We are planning a long lie as we are all off (9am instead of 6.30am!). Wake to find the christmas eve hamper then a final morning of prep. Wrap up warm and go feed the reindeer in our local park before popping into the restaurant between our house and the park for a light dinner and a glass of wine.
Home for popcorn, film and into new pj's then bed for kids.

Dh will be working on Christmas eve so my sister and I are taking the kids donutting in the afternoon. The rest of the day will be pretty chilled with some prep going on for Christmas day. I'm hoping the donutting will tire out my teenage dd so she goes to bed at a decent time.

Lazy morning of cartoons in PJs then dressed and lunch; matinee panto in the afternoon; chinese food takeaway on route home from panto; tea; Christmas eve hamper (new PJs and the Santa 'magic key' (no chimney) and maybe a sweet); bath/santa plate out/storytime/bed for kids from 6-7pm; a quiet evening of bailey's (me)/whisky (him), chocs and a movie for DH and I and an early night if he's lucky fwink.

ILikeToClean Wed 18-Dec-13 15:28:14

I'm going to do all the food prep in the morning, clean and tidy the house, DDs will probably watch a film while I'm doing that, then take DDs and dog out for a long walk after lunch. We always go to the Xmas Eve crib service and then round to a friend for mulled wine and mince pies. DH is working so we'll meet him at home, then having pulled pork in baps for dinner (which will have been slow cooking all day!). Probably watch a film all together, DDs will open their Xmas Eve present (onsies!), then DDs up to bed, we will sort out their stockings and have a few drinks and lots of rubbish to eat - cannot wait!!

BobCrotchstitch Wed 18-Dec-13 15:27:41

My DPs are arriving late on the 23rd so unlikely to be about too early on Christmas Eve. So we are walking the dogs up a big hill for hot chocolate and mince pies at the top in the morning (DS will probably opt to stay at home and lay in wait for his GPs to come downstairs)
Early lunch of soup and bread then into town for gingerbread lattes and ice skating. Home for our CEH and possibly 4pm crib service. Then buffet tea, assembly of the CEH gingerbread house, Christmas PJs on (with bandanas for the dogs and cat fgrin) TV, chocolates, chestnuts and alcohol then bed.

I really enjoy Christmas Eve and this is our first year in our new house so it's really special fsmile

TheHOHOHOnlyPink Wed 18-Dec-13 15:19:07

Dh is going to entertain the kids in the morning while i get on with some prep and last bits of tidying, not sure what he has planned but he is really good at tidy fun games!
will make something yum and easy for lunch, then watch a film. We will head to dh grandmothers house around half 4 for a huge buffet and party, all the family go and the kids love it. Home for about half 7, pjs and putting stuff out for Santa, then read the night before Christmas and the grinch (yearly tradition that I have done since I was 5!) and bed. Once kids are asleep and Santa done me and dh will eat some chocs and watch lovely Xmas telly. We go to bed about half ten on Xmas eve.

Really can't wait, love Christmas eve!! fgrin
