Ours will be a lot like yours, a quiet day at home. I've got ds (3) somw activities to do:
-making cookies

  • painting a ceramic ornament for the tree
  • xmas movie and popcorn
  • new xmas bedtime story, slippers and pjs
  • reindeer dust on the lawn so they kniw where to land Wink and leaving treats out for santa.

we might go out for a walk to look at everyone's light displays (people go a bit ott round here).

He'll go to bed about 7pm and dp and I will lay out the presents and order a takeaway. I might have a glass of wine or two as well. I utterly can't wait!!

I like xmas eve more than xmas day.

We are having DH's parents over in the early afternoon since we will be seeing my family on Christmas day. Nothing fancy as for as food goes since MIL has some issues with her stomach and I don't want her to feel bad about not being able to have all the treats. We'll exchange presents and chat a bit, maybe play a game or two.

After they leave, we'll have some family time-a Christmas movie and snacks and hot chocolate. We will also finish reading "A Christmas Carol" which we have been reading a few pages a day through December. We will open our gifts to each other-one each and then head off to bed so as not to be caught awake when Santa comes.

Dh is taking the kids to a panto. Then we'll do the Xmas Eve hamper which has Elf and popcorn in and new pj's and slippers.

We have a Polish Christmas Eve - big family dinner when the first star is in the sky (and meal is 12 dishes, tradition dictates no meat just fish), lots of wine, cake, open presents. As DH is English we also get Xmas day and save most of the presents for then. Best of both worlds. Smile

Dh is going to entertain the kids in the morning while i get on with some prep and last bits of tidying, not sure what he has planned but he is really good at tidy fun games!
will make something yum and easy for lunch, then watch a film. We will head to dh grandmothers house around half 4 for a huge buffet and party, all the family go and the kids love it. Home for about half 7, pjs and putting stuff out for Santa, then read the night before Christmas and the grinch (yearly tradition that I have done since I was 5!) and bed. Once kids are asleep and Santa done me and dh will eat some chocs and watch lovely Xmas telly. We go to bed about half ten on Xmas eve.

Really can't wait, love Christmas eve!! Xmas Grin

My DPs are arriving late on the 23rd so unlikely to be about too early on Christmas Eve. So we are walking the dogs up a big hill for hot chocolate and mince pies at the top in the morning (DS will probably opt to stay at home and lay in wait for his GPs to come downstairs)
Early lunch of soup and bread then into town for gingerbread lattes and ice skating. Home for our CEH and possibly 4pm crib service. Then buffet tea, assembly of the CEH gingerbread house, Christmas PJs on (with bandanas for the dogs and cat Xmas Grin) TV, chocolates, chestnuts and alcohol then bed.

I really enjoy Christmas Eve and this is our first year in our new house so it's really special Xmas Smile

I'm going to do all the food prep in the morning, clean and tidy the house, DDs will probably watch a film while I'm doing that, then take DDs and dog out for a long walk after lunch. We always go to the Xmas Eve crib service and then round to a friend for mulled wine and mince pies. DH is working so we'll meet him at home, then having pulled pork in baps for dinner (which will have been slow cooking all day!). Probably watch a film all together, DDs will open their Xmas Eve present (onsies!), then DDs up to bed, we will sort out their stockings and have a few drinks and lots of rubbish to eat - cannot wait!!

Lazy morning of cartoons in PJs then dressed and lunch; matinee panto in the afternoon; chinese food takeaway on route home from panto; tea; Christmas eve hamper (new PJs and the Santa 'magic key' (no chimney) and maybe a sweet); bath/santa plate out/storytime/bed for kids from 6-7pm; a quiet evening of bailey's (me)/whisky (him), chocs and a movie for DH and I and an early night if he's lucky Xmas Wink.

Dh will be working on Christmas eve so my sister and I are taking the kids donutting in the afternoon. The rest of the day will be pretty chilled with some prep going on for Christmas day. I'm hoping the donutting will tire out my teenage dd so she goes to bed at a decent time.

We are planning a long lie as we are all off (9am instead of 6.30am!). Wake to find the christmas eve hamper then a final morning of prep. Wrap up warm and go feed the reindeer in our local park before popping into the restaurant between our house and the park for a light dinner and a glass of wine.
Home for popcorn, film and into new pj's then bed for kids.

DP is taking DD1 into the city for his work's Xmas party so I will have a relaxed morning with DD2. We'll then drive down to my mother's in the afternoon. Children's crib service in the church and then a relaxed meal with lots of wine. I was 8 weeks pregnant last year and felt lousy so really looking forward to it.

Kids are going into work with DH for the morning and I am going to go and buy his birthday present. (I know, pesky birthday next week). Then lunch together. Soup and bread for dinner and then carols, minced pies and wine at a friends street in the evening. Hopefully not too late a night for the overexcited DDs. Then probably some more wine....Xmas Smile
