I need a list on here so I can refer to it and at least think about stuff when I can't move because I'm pinned down by the baby Xmas Grin

So in the Dissing household as of today we have:

sent cards to most people on the posting list

sent parcel to my sister and SIL

wrapped quite a few presents, children/baby allowing!

bought exactly ZERO special food (I hate food shopping)

obsessed about house buying, again, which is hardly relevant to the season

and wondered about going in Currys and decided not to as it was a bit, erm, busy.

Pathetic, non?

Feel free to add your own personal To Do list and update as you go.

hiya,

i have two things i need to take back for a refund, they are things i bought for me/party clothing. I am in no hurry, but am obsessing i have to do the 40 miles round trip before Christmas. This is not helping my thought process!

I KNOW i only bought them last week and that i have plenty of time to get a refund.

Debating what day to get the veg in at the moment. I'm thinking Monday (but scared there will be no parsnips-this has happened before-small town)

I Have bought all non perishable xmas grub, over the last few weeks (budget).

Have some presents to wrap, but finished all of dd's today, from me and stocking.

Pick up two more gifts for dad, and sister.

Two cards to buy for hand delivery. (sounds rude)

Wash kitchen floor
Hoover up
Tidy up (make some space so we can eat!)

OH--CATS STOCKING!!

All presents are bought and 2 thirds are wrapped so just need to find time to do the last ones. I also need to find my Love Actually DVD as DD1 and I watch that while wrapping up. Smile

Need to make a chocolate pudding for after Christmas dinner. I was going to make it and put it in the freezer but I've left it so late I may as well make it fresh on Christmas Eve. I'll lock myself in the kitchen with Carol from Kings - it'll be fine - probably

Write the Christmas cards - if I get them finished tonight then I can post 2nd class tomorrow. If not then they will have to go 1st class on Thursday

try not to finish all the chocs and booze

Fresh veg shop on Christmas Eve when I pick up the turkey.

Marzipan and ice my mum's cake - only visiting after Christmas so have got until Boxing Day to sort this.

Prep for Sunday school this weekend. I'll have to peel them off the ceiling as they will be hyped up. I love it!

Find a specific colour of t-shirt for DS to wear at his carol concert on Thursday. Pretend I am grateful that I was given precisely 24 hours notice that this was needed. Angry

Meal plan for the non-turkey meals next week

feck it! drink all the Christmas booze

OK all DC's presents are wrapped, stockings are filled and both are in an easy to get hold of place on Christmas Eve, yet won't possibly be discovered beforehand.

Need to wrap everyone else's presents. Still need to buy for DM who always says don't buy me anything, but there would be hell to pay if I did buy her nothing and 2x teenage cousins (iTunes or Amazon vouchers probably) Also thanks to piratecat who reminded me I need to do the cat's stocking- DC almost get more excited about helping open this one than there own!

Have got one parcel to send for DNs who I won't be seeing over Christmas.

Put up the rest of the decorations. just the hallway and bedroom window lights to do now. Although I the elves will need to reorganise the tree decorations one night when DC are asleep.

Food delivery is coming on Friday evening. will then need to go shopping for undelivered items or those I forgot to order.

Sit through two more carol concerts that DD is singing in, luckily without having to simultaneously entertain DS.

Bake and ice cakes for 2x school Christmas parties and 1x beaver scout Christmas party. Also pre-make the dough for Christmas cookies with the After School club kids.

Also the never ending battle to try to get the house reasonably clean and tidy. won't win this one, I never do!

Must try to think about packing at some point as we go on holiday on 27th. sounded like a good idea when we booked it in the summer, now it just seems like more work.

Wow that's still a long list, doesn't ever seem to get shorter however much I do Xmas Confused

You are all far more ambitious than I am.

It's quite impressive.

By the way TKMaxx had some lovely crackers in the other day - they have got wooden Nutcracker decorations inside. Hope they are as nice as they look on the box.

TheXmasLogIn - you'll love it when you get there, I'm sure. Am always in awe of anyone who goes away at Christmas or as soon as the children break up as the last few weeks of Summer & Autumn terms are so manic.

Need to cut some Dogwood and decorate with baubles. Also collect random bits of greenery from the garden and layer on the mantelpiece. Always looks better in my head than real life!

Bake a birthday cake on Christmas Eve for DD's Boxing Day birthday. Luckily she wants lemon cake this year so should be quick to make.

Enter the hell that is the sorting office to collect a parcel I missed today.
