Definitely too early now Grin

I'll do it maybe some time in the last week of school (week beginning 16th December) or during the week before. Would ideally do it weekend with the 14th Decrmber in but DC are with XH that weekend.

Advent calendars (we have many) will happen on 1st December so we'll get Christmassy gradually :)

It isn't Christmas yet

I will probably put mine up on 21st December. I can't be doing with all the clutter. It makes me feel clasutrophobic.

Sunday 1st December. Cannot wait.
It is my first ever tree in my own family home (always went to my parents in the uk.)
Been on pinterest looking for style inspiration - i want a nice shabby chic homemade, eclectic ornaments, as my mum always had a perfectly co-ordinated tree

Wow, some early decorations on here.

Mine will go up roundabout the 10th.

Probably 13th or 14th Dec as its the weekend nearest the 12th.
We have two trees, lounge tree- clear lights and traditional ornaments and kitchen tree- coloured lights and bright baubles Grin

Probably the 20th after they break up from school. I love the tree but it loses specialness too quickly otherwise.

We always put our tree up on Christmas Eve then we put our presents under the tree for morning. Our socks are filled by Santa in the night.
cards are put up when they arrive and lights decorate the room by about mid December. The tree is kept as a special thing. We have a real one and it drives me mad-shedding and all that so it all works out ok.
I love Christmas Smile

"but it loses specialness too quickly otherwise."

I agree. I think we are in the minority though. I prefer to keep Christmas at Christmas and not spread it over several weeks.

Probably some time around the 10th. We normally do the first weekend but we've got a 12 week old kitten this year and I don't much fancy the trees chances :D

1st of December here, does anyone know if ikea are doing a good deal on real trees this year? Got a voucher to use after Christmas last year Smile

First week. My birthday is in early December and when we were growing up, my parents always made sure it was up in time for that. A birthday without a tree feels wrong now Smile

14th at the earliest, 21st ideally. Prefer a real tree but they die off pretty quickly. Plus have a 1 yr old and two kittens this year to drag away from it every five minutes.

Now is too early.

We'll probably put ours up on the first of December and then have a walk into the village to see Santa as he's doing his rounds on that day.

I haven't told the DDs but they're going to be so excited!

Christmas Eve!

MmmmWhiteWine · 21/11/2013 17:26

Normally we put ours up the first weekend in Dec but the 1st seems a bit early, so prob the following weekend. Don't get the putting it up on Christmas Eve thing...it hardly seems worth the bother! But then we take ours down earlier than most, I think, on 1st Jan, usually, as I just want to get back to normal asap after that.

The first of December and I cannot wait this year after having a particularly horrific week it is something to look forward to!

I put ours up mid-December.

When you put it up on the 1st does it not get dusty?

Report
SuperMuddle · 21/11/2013 17:44

Around the 15th December. I don't like decorations up too early as, as sprinkle says, they lose their specialness. But I get far too impatient to wait till the weekend before Christmas, as I do love putting them up!
