what are you getting your 5/6 year old dd for Christmas? ?

dd2, aged 3, is getting a whacking great dolls house for Christmas which I KNOW she will love as she is obsessed with small world type stuff.

the only problem now, is that I have no idea what to get her 5 year old (year 1) sister. just worried about the big 'ta dah' moment when dd2 opens the enormous thing she loves and making sure dd1 has something she will love too.

dd1 is very in to art and writing, she already has an easel and I can't think of a crafty type present that will make a 'main' present. .

We've gone for the Fisher price little people Princess palace,,

www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Little-People-Disney-Princess/dp/B007J3FBKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384025441&sr=8-1&keywords=Palace%20princess%20Disney&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

It's massively reduced ATM on amazon, so get it quick if it's right for her.
(You can get a Cinderella coach and loads of little dolls to go with it.)

How about a micro maxi scooter, there's a new raspberry colour

My dd is 4. I'm thinking of a desk/ table for her room with pen pots, drawers to open etc. she loves crafts and drawing.

A wormery, a proper beside table and a lamp for reading in bed.

That's not a typo, she has asked for a wormery...

Thanks all...she already has tons of little people and playmobil.

Got a maxi micro scooter for her 5th birthday and LOVES it, so great suggestion and highly recommend for anyone else.

She's got a desk already, and craft drawers in her bedroom...she sounds horribly spoilt now, I know, she just has very indulgent grandparents.

We usually only get little bits and pieces, it's just that ELC had a great dolls house half price that we went for that for her sister. That's why it's a conundrum this year, we don't generally 'do' big presents. But I Want to be fair..

I ask her but she doesn't really know..

Princess castle, twin buggy, flicker, or is there a doll she would like and you could buy accessories to go with it or what about a big bundle of art/craft stuff together?? My dd is 4 and apart from the buggy and castle the other toys wouldn't be big wow toys they don't have to be but they still cost a pretty penny!!

Dd is 6. Her present from Santa has historically been a bit of a flop - takes a while for her to think of something and then never plays with it. Anyway, this year she had already decided she wants a bug barn and a sky high tink. We'll see how they pan out.

Lots of Lego Friends
A small Hello Kitty playhouse
A Bizu beads set - one if the dispenser ones - she loves them

My DD's main present is the playmobil swimming pool. Will also be getting a dressing up outfit, more lego (shared gift with little brother) and general stuff like chapter books, activity books, craft stuff etc. Lots of DVDs as a family gift, some board/card games but don't know what yet.

we are thinking of getting dd (5 in jan) a camera.

Report
notasausage · 09/11/2013 22:30

Wobble deck and Gault mega marble run. Camera is a good idea but DD is getting a bike for her birthday a few weeks before so we're going a bit low key for Christmas.

could the dolls house be joint even if mostly aimed at the younger one? This year my 6 year old is getting Schleich fairies, a furby boom, playmobil native american set, set of 20 moshi monsters and the lego friends horse box, my son is getting a keyboard, schleich dragons, some knights and royal family budkin figures and a furby. As a joint present they are getting a castle to share (really its for my son but there was no way I could make the piles balance and I know they will play with it together anyway)

A bedside table and a lamp for a 5 year olds Christmas present??? Why not push the boat out and buy her a pack of vests too.

I really hope that was a stealth boast about what a fluent reader your 5yo is and that you actually plan on getting her something NICE for Christmas!

fuzzpig · 11/11/2013 10:30

It's a perfectly good Xmas present if that's what she would like!
