I thought it might be easier for all including Reastie if we had a separate bargain thread for food and drink.

Reastie hoping I'm not stepping on your toes here Smile

Assuming the offers will move quickly mind.

I'm planning an online shop at tesco later so will let you know what bargains are there at the moment.

Flowers Lidls own brand Baileys is £6.99 for 70cl

Worth going via Click snap on Quidco before you shop online or in store supermarkets as you can get cash back on certain items. It's paid very quickly too.

San Leo Prosecco has been half-price at £5.24 on Ocado for the past week or so. It's often discounted, but hasn't been down that low for ages.

Brilliant stuff, bottle looks good, great to take to parties and for Buck's Fizz.

I already posted about this on Reastie's thread, but M&S have lovely tins of biscuits shaped as Christmas Trees and snow globes (with actual fake snow) in their 3-for-2 at the moment. I reckon they are perfect as a standby present, a teacher present, a neighbour, etc. And failing all else you can scoff the biscuits and keep the lovely tin!

Great idea for a thread, I do love food and drink Grin.

I don't have any special offers yet, but thought I would mention some of the bargainous gems from Aldi that area cheap as chips and very good.

Malt whisky £12.99 My very fussy SF really loves this - it is apparently on par with the £30 main brand bottles.

Actually all of their spirits are good, they often win awards, and they are as cheap if not cheaper than I can buy trade for 'non main brand spirits' (pub trade). The amaretto is £4.99 and that is a good 'cheap' amaretto. If you are wanting to make alcoholic cocktails or coffee's then I would buy these products rather than the premium brands.

Champagne £12.99 a bottle comes out top on taste tests.

They also have some cheap spumante called moscatto dolce that is £4.89 a bottle. Very sweet but very nice.

Continental tart £1.59 are very nice stand by desserts to have in the freezer.

They also sell a frozen chocolate and mandarin cheesecake (that I discovered just today) and that was soooo bloody lovely! I can't find a link but it's new and probably around £2 or £3.

I will be buying a few one to keep in for emergency desserts. Or just to eat when DP has gone to work.

Lidl have a chocolate pannetone this year which I may have already bought in anticipation of toasting Christmas morning Grin

I've already mentioned it on the other thread too (I'm assuming it's safe to surface on this one!) but if you are looking for kids gifts from thorntons try Asda first as they are about a third cheaper in there than in the thorntons shop. An example is the snowman and snowdog selection box which is £3.99 in thorntons and £2.49 in Asda.

I'm definitely looking for large tubs of chocolates. They are £5 in my local tesco garage, am I likely to get any cheaper?

We need to re stock on beer, lager, wine etc. hoping there are 3 crates for £20 type offers again...?

The tins od quality street etc are 2 for £9 in co op. They were 2 for £7 last week in morrisons (finished now).

Last year all of the main supermarkets has them at £4 a tin at some point.

So I would be looking to spend £4 a tin this year.

I'm not buying any yet. It will only cost me a fortune as I eat and replace them weekly Wink.
