Bristol Christmas meet-up?

Just testing the water to see if anyone wants to get together this year.

If so, suggest dates (we can think about the venue later)! It has been tentatively suggested that we could do this after New Year, if all the Saturdays before Christmas are full???

The Bristol Book Group will (mostly, can't say for sure) be joining us, so it won't just be you and me...Wink

Hi. Have thought about joining the book group, but not got around to it yet.
I don't know Bristol at all, so can't offer any ideas on venues I'm afraid.

Hello again, QuietNinja!

Bummer about your due date, but that should make for a very lovely Christmas for you (assuming someone else is going to do the cooking).Smile

If we did do it in the New Year, could you come for a bit?

If the meet up was in the new year then yes I could try to come for a bit. Fingers crossed feeding would be established so I could escape for an hour or two?

Not such a popular idea this year then.

Well, the Book Group will be getting together, at some point, for a holiday booze-up. I will post on here where and when and if anyone wants to join us then they will be very welcome.Smile

I'm up for a meet-up! How was book club tonight? Do we have a title for next month?

Hello, Freckled!

No definite book for the next meeting but as we have tentatively set a date for the second Monday in January, I don't think we should worry. Grin An author was mentioned but I can't remember who it was now...

I've put the 11th in the diary. Will update FB page about the next book - I think we agreed on Anne Tyler, but not a specific book?

I'm up for post-Christmas drinks on 11th. Any ideas on location? The Watershed where we met last year is handy for buses, taxi and (extortionate) parking.

I was wondering about somewhere different, maybe a little cosier? Not up to speed with places in town so all suggestions can be debated.Wink

Choice of venue probably depends a lot on how many people might turn up. If it's just book group people plus a few extras, then any cosy pub would do, but if it takes off a bit, we'd need somewhere a bit bigger.

Have you asked the MN local person to put it on Facebook and/or twitter? Should probably mention it on MNlocal here too, even though it's a bit tumble-weedy in there.

Yes, expat, that's why I was thinking cosy...

I don't know who the local person is, I never go there, THEY WANT ME TO HAVE A DIFFERENT NAME, FOR THE LOVE OF WHOEVER!!!

Sorry. Blush

nilby, we have a book club that does a monthly pub crawl discussion about various fictional matters...
