Noah's Ark toy recommendations please?

I'd like to get my nearly 1yo DS a Noah's ark toy for Christmas as a 'main' toy (his birthday is close to Xmas so want to get some toys he can grow into over the year), and I'm torn between a gorgeous wooden one like this or a chunky plastic Playmobil ark here. Perhaps the plastic one would be more practical but I'm so tempted by the wooden one!

Any experiences or other recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

The Playmobil one is great.

There's a lovely wooden shape sorter Noah's Ark in Early Learning Centre. DD was given one for her 1st birthday and it's still a popular toy nearly a year later!

I've recently bought the playmobil one for dd2 for christmas. I think it will get more play and be more robust than a wooden one. I particularly like that it has a handle to be carried about and can go in the bath.

The current price on amazon for the playmobil ark is the best I found, too

My DS got a wooden one for his first birthday. He likes it, but the playmobil one would have got much more play as DC already have playmobil 123 stuff it could have gone with. They also play with Duplo alongside chunky playmobil. The wooden stuff just seems more ornamental, even to them.

Had I bought one for DS1 I would have (mistakenly) gone for a wooden Noah's Ark like those already suggested HOWEVER DS1 was bought one as a gift just before his first birthday this or this (not sure which one as they look identical to me even though there is a price difference) and it still gets played with most days even now by him 3.5yo and his brother 14 months they love it even though I initially really didn't. They do have loads of other wooden toys though.

My DD also has the Fisher Pric Ark and has had a lot of play out of it.

Thanks all! I was just about convinced by the Playmobil one until the price went up again this evening...I'll leave it a bit and see if it changes again. (I showed DH and he was unimpressed that the playmobil doves didn't have an olive branch, and he voted wooden on that basis Hmm)

Though the wooden one would look lovely on top of the toy shelves.....!
