Need a present for DS2

My mum told me today that she hasn't got a present for DS2, she has no idea what to get him, and wants me to get something for him.

I can't think of anything to get him. I'm all shopped out, I've got him presents from us, I have no more ideas and he's only 8 months.

I'm really pissed off with my mum, who has never had this problem with DS1, in fact she has a cupboard full of presents for him, ready for when he "needs" them. DS1 is only 2, so it's not like she's not in the habit of buying for babies.

She's told me the budget is £40.

Normally I would just tell her not to worry as I can't think of anything either, but I'm hacked off that she won't put any effort in for DS2, he's very much a "meh, 2nd child, who cares?" baby for her. And he caught whooping cough when he was 2 weeks old, was ill for months, and was finally discharged by the paeds this week, so I think he deserves some attention from her.

So, does anyone have some ideas what I can get him please?

Could you swap out one of the presents you have already bought for him to be from her, and put the money into a savings account for when he may make better use of it? There's only so many toys a 4 month old needs really, especially with older siblings....

Glad to hear he is recovered from whooping cough though, must have been awful.

What about a ball pool and balls then it can be used as a paddling pool in summer?
