My DS aged 5 loves Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I am planning on making up a box of goodies for him. I've got a Wonka choc bar and plan to buy chocolate moulds, lollipop sticks, cellophane wrappers etc plus a big twirly lollipop!
I'm doing this on account of the reviews of the choc coin maker and the fact that I cannot find any other toy choc machine that actually looks any good...
Any suggestions to make this an extra magical box of surprises would be much appreciated!
Edible glitter and silver balls etc for decorations?
I know BHS do big giant tins of sweets but might not fit in your box!
Aldi have Christmas marshmallows in at the moment. Maybe you could get him a mini mug ... I saw gorgeous gruffalo ones recently ... and get some mini packs of chocolate and one of those mini graters to put extra choc on top?
Cookie cutters?
Piping bags to decorate lollies too?
Ocado stock wonka sweets
A daft hat, stripy scarf, a whistle? Just trying to think of Wonka-esque non-edible thing if you wanted to pad it out a bit.
There are the Wonka sweets you can get. Popping candy is a must!
Has he ever had popping candy? That can be quite mind-blowing.
There are websites where you can get personalised chocolate bars, that could be fun. The min. order quantity migt be too high for you, so you coud maybe make your own? e with the choc bars that are foil wrapped, and then have a paper wrap over the top... you could take off the paper wrap and replace with your own, cut to size, with text saying russiandolly's DS's chocolate factory or whatever.
The thing that has always stuck in my mind is the rivers of hot chocolate. Real chocolate melted. You could maybe do that for him?
oooh, you NEED a golden ticket, don't you? So give him a card with that in it. Or a choc bar??? And then point him to the rest of the present experience...
Ha - x-post re popping candy!
I think it was on IWOOT but there is a a golden ticket chocolate bar you can buy - how lovely for a fan!
These are fantastic ideas, thank you!! Popping candy, edible glitter definitely! I'd like some non-edible bits too so keep the ideas coming...
The wonka choc bar I have got has indeed a golden ticket!
Um, one of those big keys to leave outfit Santa but it could be the key to the Chocolate Factory.
Depending on where you are and whether your DC would appreciate a 'promise' present but a 'voucher' for a day out at Cadbury World (though he may be disappointed by the lack of Oompa Loompas
)
Is it the Johnny Depp version that he's into
May be a daft question, but do you have the Roald Dahl book? He might be too young to read it himself but could be a bedtime book.
Lovely book from Lakeland. Recipes and bits of texts. All choc factory themed.
I ummm HAD to have it and it could not wait for Christmas.
<Really? How old am I? Emoticon!>
We have an actual roald dahl recipe book which is BRILLIANT, and have bought dds tickets too see Matilda in the new year with some Wonka choc from a Mr simms sweet shop. We have bought a fancy paperchase box to put it all in.
A chocolate fountain perhaps?
how about one of the old fashioned cadbury chocolate machine? you know, the one you used to put a tuppence into and get a tiny choccie bar out?
Our kids love their roald dahl recipe book. Tiger had some chocolate moulds for £3 last week. How about an apron, wooden spoon and plastic mixing bowl too.
This book is lovely
