She has been asking for the Playmobil Harbour Ferry for ages but has just changed her mind (she has loads of playmobil so I don't mind). Any suggestions for a 'main' present for her of approx 30 quid value. Her brother is is getting Mario Kart for the Wii as his 'main' present, by way of comparison.
She is quite sporty, girly and crafty. Not hugely into dolls.

How about a CD player/iPod docking station for her room? DD had one at about that age and has loved having story CDs on while she's playing /colouring etc.
Or a cheap ish MP3 player?
Or some inline skates?
Or a scooter?
Or a non vTech digital camera?

She is obviously very spoilt as she has all of those (very great!) ideas already....

Mine is into magic tricks so she's getting a more grown up version of a Magic tricks (still looking for the exact make, possibly Melissa & Dough again), we've already got the smaller M&D one and it's great.

And something both kids (5+8) just discovered - Domino Rally. They spent ages setting it up with Jenga blocks and our domino sets and now they'll have a proper one (one each to make life easier)!

Crafty: a sewing kit / case? there are some nice ones around.

At that age I really loved craft kits, and also "grown up" craft supplies - e.g. an embroidery case stocked with scissors, silks etc (I remember being given this by one of my sisters); or a sewing box with cottons, scissors, buttons and some fabric to create things. If she's not so into sewing you could do some similar kit/box/case for a craft she is into. Paintbox and paper etc?

I also always really coveted those really giant boxes of colouring pencils or pens but never got given one!

Pogo stick! What my DD1 of almost 7 has asked for. Similar sporty, crafty girl who also loves playmobil!

Love the ideas thank you very, very much indeed. I think I will go for a craft box of sewing stuff and pass the pogo stick idea onto my dad! Thanks
