I thought I wouldn't need to do one of these threads but here we are:

I just realised that DD doesn't have any presents that she would have asked for, IYSWIM? She is 4 and didn't ask for anything. I did the shopping far too early and she's got a few board games, books etc... All vaguely educational and stuff she will enjoy, but nothing 'wow'. No actual 'toys'. Her little brother has Happyland stuff so that's BIG.

DD has unfortunately got all 'princessy' since starting school and I feel I should get her a little something to honour that. Will be in town tomorrow anyway, so I just want to pick up something there. In the last week she has mentioned 'a little mermaid umbrella' Confused and 'a pink house for my [doll] baby' Confused but as she's my eldest I have no idea how to tell if she actually meant it!

So. £10 maximum ideally. Decent size. Pink and girly. Not too tacky (I realise the last two requirements may be something of an oxymoron).

On your marks... Get set... GO!!!

Fairy wings, tiaras, magic wand type things spring to mind. Don't worry about tackiness her other stuff is sensible enough.

Get the brightest, most glittery 100% plastic stuff you can find. She will love it.

you should be able to get something 'big' in tkmaxx - last week in Liverpool i saw a full size disney princess wooden kitchen for £15!!!!! You may be able to get a play tent in there for £10. they also sell magnetic dolls with clothes to arrange and dress them up in - my dds aged 4 and 6 love them - usually about £8.

What about a blow up disney princess chair £5 usually home bargains, tkmaxx etc?

Home bargains sell the my little pony twinkle hot air balloon (doubles as a night light and is musical) for £10. Its usually £25 - my dd aged 4 loves it so i have got her that for xmas!

Does she have a buggy? Usually about £6 in most shops?

Home bargains do fancy dress for £5 but are you thinking more 'toy'?

dont be afraid to raid poundland too - loads of plastic stuff there and as prima says, she has enough sensible stuff to not worry too much about it!

That's funny, I was thinking Hama beads, I think it might have to wait though as DS still eats everything Hmm

Love that pink house, she would adore it! Wow! Will check that out and actually there's a tkmaxx right next to argos in town so I'll have a look :)

DH is in town right now - if I reserved that house online (argos) would he be able to collect it straight away?

I have reserved the baby doll house thingy. I had told DD that it was too late to place an order with the elves but this doesn't count as it's from us, right? :o

Today she's mentioned cinderella dolls... Tough though, she's got a couple of dolly things already (including a buggy) which she plays with so doesn't need any more!

Gah. I really thought I'd got away without "I want..." and "Santa's going to bring me..." for the last time this year. I blame the school. Xmas Grin

Next year I am going to leave the shopping much later. And have a stricter budget. Xmas Blush

Dotty I've had a look at the house, we will be building/wrapping it tonight, it looks perfect. Didn't realise it came with furniture too. She will love it! Thank you :)

Aww - I'm really pleased! I've got 2 boys, whose only interest is Nerf guns and Fifa 12, so have never had the pleasure of even googling for lovely girly stuff before. sigh. Hope it goes well! Grin
