do you buy your grown up neices/nephews anything for Xmas?

to explain a bit more, I have 3 neices/nephews that live 100's of miles away and hardly ever see

they are all in their 30's, no kids yet and they all earn a whacking amount more than me and dh

only one of them ever sends my kids anything for birthdays or xmas, the other two send a card with out any gifts

so what do I do at xmas, do i send them all gifts, bearing in mind we are skint and they arent at all? I dont expect 2 of them will send my kids anything

Given their financial status I would say not. It would possibly be different if they were to have children, in which case you might buy them something. You don't see them and only one makes the effort with the DC gifts, so I think you could say to that person you are grateful for their presents but not to worry next year onwards. Just send cards.

I would just send a card. I only exchange gifts with one aunt and we are very close. I think generally people stop giving gifts to nieces/nephews/cousins etc when they reach late teens

Considering their age and finiancial position save your money!! I am 25 with 1 dd. a few of my cousins buy to her for bday and xmas. the favour will always be returned when or if they have kids.
