Mine are 9 and 11 and still truely believe, no knowing looks or comments to indicate otherwise which is fine by me :)

my 8 yo firmly believes, my 10 year old winks at me every time we mention father christmas so I'm guessing she has figured it out but we've never had a conversation about it

I'm not sure what age dd was but probably around 7 or 8. She was told at school by another child, but didn't let on to us and carried on pretending, possibly for our sakes. She did the same with the tooth fairy. Though even now, she won't actually say she doesn't believe in them; I think we all collude in the pretense that they exist simply because it's more fun that way.

I know I was about 6 when I realised Fr Christmas wasn't real and that was from school too. My elder bro had apparently known for years but had kept quiet about it so I and our younger bro could continue to enjoy the thrill of Fr Christmas coming down the chimney (we had them in every room).

I was 7 but I remember being a bit shocked when I was told, so I could have gone on longer.

On a similar note, what do you tell your younger dc's when they 'meet' FC at fairs and such-like? My 4 yr old met him last weekend and is puzzled as to why he'll be asking what she wants again at nursery tomorrow. Confused

DS is 8 and I'm pretty sure still believes (seemed more dubious last year tbh). DD is 6 and definitely believes.

Mollyinthemoon- I say that the FCs at school etc are messengers for the real FC who is busy sorting out gifts for good children. They dress up as FC so we know that they are official messengers for FC.

I think DS was about 6 or 7 (thanks to an older boy who was sent to his class....), but then there's no flies on him.
DD still believed and was 8 or 9Xmas Smile

DS1 was 10
DS2 was 9
DS3 is 8 and I'm sure has worked it out but hasn't said anything.

TBH around there is right I think otherwise they run the risk of looking foolish in front of their friends. Kids can be cruel, y'know.

dd is 8 and ds is 5 - they both still believe but dd may be on the verge of working out the presents come from us.

Ds is 7, 8 next Feb and firmly believes. But then he told me off for stepping on a mushroom the other day as "every time you do that a fairy DIES you know" so may be up there with the more gullible.
Very aware that there is the one real FC and lots of pretending ones though.

I was about 8 when my older brother showed me our presents hidden in my parents wardrobe. And I was devastated Xmas Shock.
I still wanted to believe.

DS1 was 5. DS2 is 4 and has shown no signs of non-belief. I was 4 when I saw my Dad put my stocking in my room.
