What's on your drinks trolley?

Our cupboard is looking bare so what should we have in the house for guests - any lovely drinks to recommend?

We have gin, grey goose vodka and some strange whiskey...

I was thinking about this the other day style. We don't keep a supply of alcohol in the house. Mum and Dad always had a drinks cabinet with brandy, whiskey gin etc and the soda syphon and decanter.

We may have a couple of cans of beer in the fridge or a bottle of wine but that's it. Blush

I will read your thread and hopefully learn.......

Good question. We are having just a couple of friends around and they are wine and beer drinkers like us! But I think maybe a few extra interesting things may be nice.

How about port? Liqueurs of sorts?

I think sherry is back in fashion. Shock

An ice cold Tio Pepe dry sherry served with tapas snacks is very trendy indeed. Its how Spaniards drink sherry. Our sweet sherry for Granny at Xmas is beyond their understanding.

Creme de menthe and Sheridans because obviously if I have a drinks trolley I must have transported back to the 1970s.

I have just ordered our Christmas booze.

Already have bottle of port, Pastis, Creme de Cassis, Champagne and Grand Marnier.

Have ordered red wine, bottled lager, a few bottles of cider (will probably use for cooking or mulling) Vodka for bloody Marys, whisky and Baileys.

Now I have read that I think I sound like a bloody alchy!!!!

From the bottom of my heart I implore you to avoid the Aldi Hazelnut Liqueuer at all cost.

It is vile and smalls like a chemical cleaner that should be banned.

I'm really in to prosecco at the moment. It's much less harsh on my tummy than champers, I don't get so much acid reflux. Plus it's much cheaper!

I've got a lovely bottle of home made damson vodka nicely maturing in my kitchen for Christmas day!

Amaretto. On the rocks. Can also add to coffee. Baileys in hot milk is a good nightcap too.
