My DD is 9y and in Y5.

For Christmas she is recieving the new David Walliams book and a set of Malory Towers books. She is also currently enjoying the Wimpy Kid series, the Narnia books, and Cathy Cassidy.

How about "the best Christmas present in the world" for your older dd? By Michael Morpurgo. I have it on order from the library so haven't read it yet but the reviews on amazon look good.

holly & ivy very sweet old fashioned story. My dds 4 & 7 love it.

Papa Panovs special day is an old folk tale (polish) I think, you get it on amazon. A bit of a tear jerker with beautiful pictures.

Also The Christmas Mystery by Jostien Gardnner. It is an advent book. My 7y.o loves it. It's for reading to them. I love it too.
