Shopping on Boxing Day.....such a shame

I know people have the right to shop when they want but I really do wonder why shops can't stay closed on boxing day. I was in ASDA yesterday and noticed that they are open from 10 -4 on BD. I can't even imagine what it is like for the Next lot having to be in work int he middle of the night.

I just don't get why the shops can't stay closed until 27th December.

I agree with you. People seem to want to shop everyday. But it's not fair on those who have to work on Boxing Day. The shops should shut until 27th.

There is no dress - especially none from Next FGS - that I could want so much that I'd start queuing in the middle of the night for on Boxing Day.

I couldn't agree with you more OP.

I agree OP, its very Sad that people feel the need to get up early and shop on boxing day. I have been to a couple Next sales but only when they have been the day after boxing day, last year i didn't bother. I do like to go sale shopping but would rather be with my family on boxing day constructing toys and eating cold turkey.

I agree too. Having worked in retail I know what it's like for the people who quite often don't really have any choice in working. Also, I don't get why people want to go out shopping the day after Christmas!

I say this every year and don't know anyone who likes the idea. And yet the shops are bursting Xmas Confused

Boxing Day is for loose trousers and fixing broken new toys

well there are plenty of people who don't celebrate christmas and might want to go to a shop. I wouldn't go shopping on Boxing Day though.

Dd says it usually those who don't follow Christian religion who are in her shop, getting bargains. If they don't celebrate Christmas then can see why they wouldn't care if it's boxing day

I would go shopping on Boxing Day - and I would happily work on Boxing Day too, so long as I got a day off elsewhere in the year. It is the second most overrated date of the year (after NYE).
