Who gives YOU presents at Christmas?

FreakoidOrganisoid · 06/12/2011 15:57

Just wondering as a lot of people (irl) have mentioned adding stuff to their Christmas list recently and I don't have a list for me.

I get
One secret santa present from old uni friends (we still get together regularly and at Christmas/NY)

My gran either gives me a supermarket voucher or a box of food

My parents will have lent me money at some point in the year and write some of it off for Christmas (last year a dress for a wedding, this year half a bookcase)

My sister gives me chocolate or alcohol.

My parents always buy me something from John Lewis (they live in Aus and like the delivery system etc)
My sister and SIL usually spend between £5 -10 so it's usually knickers/socks etc
DH and I do a £20 trinket
My MIL buys whatever I've hinted at over the last month.
That's it.

I get a box of chocolates from my dad or sometimes a bottle of wine. A basket of toiletries from my gran (second hand from the charity shop bless her so they go in the bin!) and a £25 limit present from dh. I used to get a present from db and his wife but we've stopped this year.
Oh and something nice that I but myself as my other presents are so meagre!! ( ungrateful I know!)

DH/DS and 2 x secret santa.

We have a lot of people here on Boxing day which leads to lots of flowers, chocolates and booze which is lovely.

DH & kids, parents (usually some clothes I've picked myself and a few small surprises), 2 Aunties (both money), Sister, Sister's dd, IL's, BIL/SIL.

There's also a couple of families we're friends with who have kids in dd1's class and we're doing family gifts for each other (i.e. biscuits/sweets type of thing).

My parents buy me something - mam always asks what I want, and then I get a little token to unwrap on the day too - a scarf or book token or something.
Other than that, I get something from Santa if I buy it myself and can be arsed, and last year pfb and his fiancee bought me a pair of slippers. That was his first year living in his own house.

DH- about 5 or 6 things. Usually books, CDs etc
2 DDs who are taken shopping by DH to choose something to give to me.
Mum and Dad - £30 budget. This year they've got me a gorgeous evening dress courtesy of ebay for a formal dinner we are going to in Feb.
2x sisters.

DH's Mum and Aunty then shower us with presents a few days later. Usually 6 or 7 little bits and pieces like nice chocs and smellies.

And about half of my class usually bring something in on the last day. Bless them. Usually nice smellies (never have to buy my own), chocs and sometimes flowers or wine.

My MiL, and my dad and I swap small token presents (ie less than a £5). DH and I haven't given each other presents for years, and sister and I decided not to bother either. God, I sound really miserable don't I Shock. I love Christmas though - just can't be bothered with the presents!!

This year, to avoid disappointment, I simply bought myself a gift and handed it to DH to wrap up from him and the DC. They always get me something regardless, the loves, but this year it's something I wanted!!
