Thinking of getting my DD one for christmas. There are so many types/sizes/colours/games I have absolutely no idea what to buy! Can any one help. (BTW DD is almost 5)

Thank you

dsi xl - larger screens and stylus pens, also 'child colours' bright green, yellow, blue.

I have just bought dd1 a DS lite (lime green) on e-bay for £63, it is the 'no frills' version but she's not really bothered about the 3D or the camera on the dsi.

(I had to read this twice before realised you weren't planning to get your daughter a brother for Christmas and wondering what colour/type to get her... Shock Grin)

DSlite - the basic model now, and good prices.

DSi - has cameras, never really got what else it did that was different to the lite.

DSi XL - as above but larger screen, aimed at the older market (there are lots of grandparents enjoy playing DS!) and not really intended for children.

3DS - the newbie, currently £119 in Sainsbos, I have one in the cupboard for DD2. Plays all the old "normal" DS games so you dont need to spend a fortune on all 3D games. The 3D also turns off, although DH and i have been playing with it and think its fab Grin

Oh 3DS not recommended for under 7 due to the 3D effect, just realised your DD is 5, you are better with the DS lite.
