DS has seen an advert for this and really wants to see the film (think he thinks its on TV as we've never taken him to the cinema before). Is anyone planning on going to see this? If so please can you report back? DS has just turned 4 so i really want to know if it would be suitable for him, or would it spoil the magic of santa (we are a believing house Wink)? And is 4 a bit young for the cinema anyway?

dd is just 4 and been the cinema loads- she is fine if its something she's interested in -e.g took her to watch tangled and she loved it, took her to watch Mr Poppers penguins and she was bored half way through despite it being a good movie! Arthur looks fab but i'm waiting til Dec to taken them to get them in xmas mood! I dont think it'd spoil the magic - but then i aint seen it yet!

This will definately be the Christmas dvd we buy next year! Not only does it have Dr House, Professor X, DCI Slater and Umbridge in it, but the main character also happens to have the same name as a certain ds I know....

If it's along the lines of Polar Express then 4yo would be fine.(I took DD to see PE when she was 4)

Don't know how they'd cope with 3D though. The cinema surround sound is daunting enough, but mine were so excited at that age to go to cinema (still are Smile )

We are going to save AC until nearer to Christmas, hopefully it'll run for a few weeks.

yes agree with the 3D thing (not that ive ever seen a 3D film - havent been to cinema since i was pg with said 4yo Shock). our local odeon is also showing the film in 2D, but we can only book dates in the next week - which is far too early for christmas for my liking. just need to work out what to do with DD (18mo) while we go....

Yes I'm planning to take DS1 who is 4 to see it. He has been to the cinema loads too and seen quite a few in 3D which he loved - he loves sitting there with his glasses on! He is fine with U certificate (which this one is) but struggles to follow the plot with a PG (DH took him to see TinTin last week and he got a bit lost with it.

I don't think it is too early for Christmas films - we've already watched the Snowman twice and The Grinch this week!!

I'm planning to take ds (2.5) but nearer to Xmas. He loved going to see cars 2 :). Agree with seeing it in 2d though, 3d is rubbish, expensive and ds wouldn't keep the glasses on.

I took DS to see Polar Express at the IMAX when he was 4. I was amazed - he kept the glasses on the whole time, and just sat in awed silence.

3D feels so much more interactive that I think the little ones are totally engaged when the movie starts.

Still remember feeling soppy prickly tears when the snow fell at the begining and all the little kids in the row were reaching out to try and grab it infront of their faces... Blush
