It's my turn to make the Christmas puddings for my lot and my mum and dad. We like this low-fat recipe and it's suitable for vegetarians too and really moist Smile. You steam it, put it in a cool dark place, feed it every couple of weeks and then just microwave it on the day.

I like mine with brandy butter, but that's a whole different thread altogether Grin.

So, if you make rather than buy, what is your favourite pudding recipe?

Can't beat Delia. I make it every year and everyone loves it! I got the ingredients to make mine today - better late than never!

I want to make a pud but i wanted to microwave it on the day. Can i do that with delia's? I want to make tiny ones as only me who likes it so dont mind the initial steaming but wanted to blast it on christmas day. Help?

The one I linked to is steamed beforehand and then microwaved on the day. I think that my mum used to make the Delia one as individual puds and microwave them, but bytheMoonlight might have a better idea as to whether that is the case Smile.

Delia says to steam it on the day but last year we got distracted with newborn dd2 and forgot so it went in the mic after dinner- couldn't really taste the difference and suspect it will get zapped again this year

It might be low fat (i.e. no suet) but you soak the fruit in booze and I feed mine regularly, so it's still pretty rich tasting Grin.
